The “I never received towel animals” support group thread…

I prefer to think of myself as towel animal abstinent. I'm waiting until marriage to have a towel animal. I thank my lucky stars every day that I have never had a towel animal forced upon me. I do everything I can to ensure my towel animal safety (not making the bed, only grown up things left out, never buying/packing any stuffed animals). And God help the person who ever accuses me of "asking for" a towel animal! That kind of thinking is just wrong.

We were @ POR in Jan. And not one TA. :sad2: However our Mousekeeper did pose The childrens stuffed animals all but 1 day of our 9 days there. :)
So until the next trip at least I have this support group to help ease the pain. :grouphug:

They are not easy to make.
Here are the instuctions for a towel elephant.
Bath Towel Elephant

Materials:
1 Large thick bath towel (body)
2 washcloths (trunk and ears)
Ribbon
Lace
Felt- white, blue and black (eyes)
Silk flowers
Wire (wire coat hanger will work)
Hot glue gun
Instructions:
Lay the bath towel out on a table. Starting at narrow edge, roll the towel to the center. Repeat with the other edge.

Fold the towel in the middle with the rolls facing out. Scrunch the washcloth in the middle and slide it between the fold of the bath towel. This creates the ears. Set this piece aside.

To create the trunk, cut a piece of wire about 2 inches smaller than the width of your wash cloth. Lay the wire along one edge of the wash cloth Fig. and roll up the wash cloth around the wire as tightly as possible. Glue the edge with a glue gun. This creates the trunk. Bend the trunk shaping it
Take half of the trunk and snuggle it down between the rolls of the bath towel leaving only the curved half of the trunk sticking out.

Tie a ribbon around the middle of the bath towel just below the ears and trunk This creates the neck.

Cut a length of lace to fit around the neck and glue in place so the bow of the ribbon is hanging in front of the lace.

To create the eyes, cut two ovals from white felt. Cut two circles from blue felt and two small rectangles from black felt. Fringe the edge of the black felt to create eyelashes. Glue the eyelashes to the back of the white ovals. Glue the blue circles to the front of the white ovals. Arrange the eyes on the elephant and glue in place.

Finishing: Glue silk flowers to the end of the trunk and on the top of the head. Attach a small bow to the forehead.

now that is strange last time we stayed at CedarPOint house keeping left us 2 dead fish on each bed with a used syringe in their mouths..figured it was representing Lake ERie since we also saw that on the beaches.....guess they have slacked off just like disney

Never received a towel animal either but once when we checked into the Beach Club the bathroom sink had a glob of old toothpaste that kinda looked like a snake. The staff musta thought so too as they left it there without cleaning it our entire stay...does that count???

Stayed deluxe numerous times, no animals. Last month, last minute trip, had to stay at POFQ. Yep, you got it, our 1st and only TA, a bunny. I think I was more excited than the kids. I even took pictures of it. Just don't know how to post them :( . I didn't take it with me, was afraid that we'd wind up being charged for it. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: October is CR, again. Maybe, just maybe. Although I'd prefer a refurbished room instead................... :rotfl:
