That's the Second Biggest Double Stroller I've Ever Seen- A Dec 2010 TR

I am doing the "Carter about to go on a ride" happy dance over your bag! It is beautiful and I am sure it suits you. Jeremy was terrifically stealthy and you did a great job setting up the surprise here for us.

Thank you for the wonderful TR! I can't wait to start following your PTR.

I haven't commented much lately but just wanted to let you know I read along. That stinks that the trip home didn't go well but thankfully Landon didn't get sick. A throwing up baby is no fun especially when everyone else is sick.

What a great Christmas present.

How exciting to be going back in May. I can't wait until we go in June. Still contemplating starting a PTR but just haven't bite the bullet.

Thanks for letting me know you're still here. :) I was really glad when Landon didn't get sick. I know he's really not that much younger than Carter, but he seems so little to me.

It really was a great Christmas present. :cloud9:

May is coming up fast. :cool1: I can't wait either. I'd be interested in your PTR for June, if you decide to do one.

And the best Disney husband award goes to Jeremy!!

That is wonderful. Yeah!! Just let me know when you get the PTR for the next tow trips going.

Jeremy really does deserve best Disney husband award. I'm sure he overindulges my Disney-craziness, but I'm okay with that. :rotfl:

I'll definitely let you know when I start my PTR for May. I'd better start it soon, or it will be too late.

Ugh, I'm so sorry you had to get sick on the way home, that's no fun! And in the car, that had to be awful! Glad it was short lived and you all felt better quickly! :goodvibes

OMG I can't believe you got a D&B for Christmas!!! :cool1: :dance3: I wish my DH would take the 10,000 hints I've been dropping and get me one for our anniversary in a couple of weeks, but I know he won't! :confused3 I'll just have to wait until October and maybe buy one when I'm down there again!

Can't wait for your PTR! I can't believe you're going again so soon! :thumbsup2

It was a very miserable ride home, but I guess we all survived. I hope the drive in May is much less eventful.

I couldn't believe I got a D&B bag for Christmas, either. Jeremy had me convinced that he thought they were frivolous and then, on Christmas, there it was. I love it. Maybe your DH will come through with a bag for your anniversary. Sometimes husbands can be tricky...

I'm so excited to be going back so soon! I can't wait to start my PTR, either. I've still got a million things to do before the trip, so it will be good to start in on it.

This has been an amazing TR, and I can't wait for your PTR!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. :)

:sad1: Your trip is all over. I have enjoyed reading it.:surfweb:

I have to say I think there was a stomache bug going around Disney because DD7 woke up one night and threw up and felt sick to her stomache the few days we were there. Then we barely made it home when DD3 threw up in our garage. We live about 10 mins from the airport but thankfully he did not throw up on the plane or the airport terminal.

:lmao: We are from the NORTH and it was cold. I think it made us so tired that we really didn't feel like doing much. I am glad too that I was able to see the Christmas decorations but I don't think I will plan a trip in December again. It was 14 degrees the day we walked around EPCOT. :cold:

Thanks! I've found it's much less sad to have a trip end when there is a new one coming right up. :woohoo:

This was the first time we had ever encountered the stomach bug at Disney. It wasn't a very magical experience. I'm sorry your daughter was sick while at Disney. That would be really awful. At least no one was sick on the plane. I thought in a way, if we had flown and Carter had gotten sick, it would have been worse because of all the people around, looking at us.

Epcot is such a cold park. We always had our coldest days at Epcot. I told Jeremy I didn't want to plan any more Christmas trips for awhile, because of the cold, but I'm not sure how well I'll stick to that, once December gets closer. :rotfl: Disney really isn't as much fun in the cold. But I have had December trips with wonderfully warm weather, so maybe it was just a bad year. :confused3

i so enjoyed your trip report and so sad to hear about the virus. it has been going around here in georgia! o and what a great present!!! I'll be looking for your PTR!

Thanks! The virus was quite the unpleasant end to our trip. We seemed to have a bit of bad health luck on this trip. Sorry to hear it's going around Georgia. I hope it doesn't come up here. Thanks, I hope to start my PTR soon.

I very much enjoyed your TR! I love reading TR's from other people with small children! We will be @ the World May 6-15! Looks like we will be enjoying it at the same time! I am praying for lovely not overly hot weather!!! ;) We last went in August so I am sure it will seem lovely in comparison!

Thank you! I look forward to your next TR~!

Thanks! I love reading TRs with small children, too. :goodvibes Cool, you'll be there at the same time as us! I'm thinking the weather in May will be great compared to December.

We actually were at Disney last year the first week of May, too and it was extremely hot. I was worried about Landon being out in the sun, since he was so little and he insisted on being carried everywhere, no sling, carrier, or stroller, just plain carried. We came across those giant sombreros in Mexico. If we wore the giant sombreros, Landon would be in the shade while we carried him. It was only after we bought them, that we realized the date- May 5th, better known as Cinco de Mayo. We got a lot of...attention. :rotfl:

Anyway, hopefully, it won't be that hot this year. Though, I might stick a sombrero in the car, just in case.

Catching up to the end.. Your last MK moments had me tearing up. I couldn't imagine not looking back. I think I'd be a mess every step if I ddin't try soak in everything until it was too far to see anymore.

Too bad about the ride home. I'm with others though. Thank goodness that didn't go on during your trip!

Love the Christmas present! Good to know that you can use that with diapers, too. You've made my arguement for one of those a bit stronger tonight. Thanks!!

Great TR, Kate! I so enjoyed following along and can't wait to read all about your next trips! :thumbsup2

We never look back. I think Walt would have wanted it that way. Keep moving forward and all that. :rotfl: I think I would be sadder to watch the Castle slowly fade away into nothing.

Not our best ride home, by a long shot, but it is good that it didn't ruin the whole week. Until that trip, we'd never really had any injuries or illnesses at Disney and that week we got two. :sad2:

Actually, the Dooney & Burke bag is a lot more little boy resistant than I would have guessed. Whatever it's made of doesn't seem to get very dirty. And it is so nice to not carry around a big diaper bag everywhere I go.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. :goodvibes
Thanks for sharing!!:goodvibes Your TR was one of favorites!! I'm looking forward to your PTR and your next TR! :cheer2:

Thanks! I'll be happy to have you join in my PTR coming up. :)

I totally gasped when I saw your bag!!!!

What a sweet husband you have!!

I love that we are purse twins!!! Hehehe!!! :flower3:

If you do a TR for May I'm in!!!! :surfweb:

It is a breathtaking bag, isn't it? I do have a very sweet husband. :lovestruc

I thought it was cool when I saw we had the same bag. It's fun to have a purse twin. :rotfl:

I'm definitely planning on doing a TR for May. :) In fact, one of the things I need to do before the trip is buy an extra battery for the camera, so I have less picture-free days.

I have really enjoyed your TR and look forward to reading your May PTR! :thumbsup2 I am so sorry that your trip home was so bad. What a great DH to surprise you with the bags.

Just finished up the TR! I started it a few weeks ago and forgot about it :scared1: I loved it. Your boys are so cute. Glad you are going back soon! Sorry about the ride home. We had that incident occur on a road trip once when my 7 yr old was around 2. It was NOT fun! Glad you guys were ok while in Disney though. That would have been worse!

Awww...what a wonderful hubby to buy you the bag you wanted! :) That's LOVE!! :)

And so sad that your TR is over. :( So sad.

Oh well...least I'll have your PTR to read...and then your TR after that. ;) Keep me in the Disney spirit for the next year till I really get going on my PTR. ;)

:rotfl:

This makes me smile now for sure!!! Ha! :thumbsup2

I didn't want to give away the surprise coming up. :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing your vacation experience with us. I truly enjoyed your trip report and your writing style. I definitely hope to be able to follow along on your future TRs!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my trip report and I'll be happy to have you follow my next TRs! :goodvibes

Glad everyone's feeling better. What a bummer to come home from WDW sick!

I love the surprise D&B bag! Your husband did good!

I've really enjoyed reading about your trip and look forward to the next trip report!

Yes, it wasn't a fun ending to the trip, but we all recovered pretty quickly, so that was something.

I loved the surprise bag, too! Jeremy always picks out the best gifts. He says I'm an easy person to shop for because if it's anything at all Disney, I'll like it. :rotfl:

Thanks! I'll be happy to you have join me for the next one!

I have really enjoyed reading along with your report!! Sorry I became a lurker instead of commenting all the time, but I was there reading along :goodvibes

I have to tell you that after reading your report I have become hooked on vinylmations...I got one for my birthday and then ordered one from disney store online...now I am looking forward to buying one and trading down at WDW when I go in October!! I still dont understand the rules of trading there, but now I have you to thank for my new found love of vinylmation!!!

Ps that D&B bag is adorable!!!

That's okay, even lurkers are appreciated here. :rotfl: I'm glad to know you were still here.

Vinylmation is a dangerous habit. I think I'm up to seven now. It's so much fun to go to the Disney Store and pick up a new one. Trading is the fun part. :goodvibes Have you seen this website yet? http://eventservices.disney.go.com/static/vinylmation/faq.html

It does a pretty good job of explaining all the details of Vinylmation.

Thanks!

Kate, after a week of being gone, I am just too far behind to comment on everything.

First, LOVE the bag (I have the smaller version).

I so enjoyed your TR and can't wait to join you on your PTR.

Thank you for sharing your lovely family and your trip with us.

I understand about not commenting on everything. It's amazing how far behind you can get on TRs. I'd take a trip to Florida over being caught up any day of the week.

Thanks! I love the Sketch design- the Mickeys, Cheshire Cats, Tinks, Castles, Balloons, Mouse Ears, Teacups- it's got it all.

Thank you! I've really enjoyed writing this TR. I'm getting excited about starting my new PTR. Just have to decide on a title...

I am sure it will be hot, but at least it cools off at night. In August, it was still 80 degrees feeling like 90 degrees at midnight!!! ACKK!!! Never again! You had to push your way through the AIR. I did get a great tip before that trip though that helped a lot. We put a wet wash rag in a ziplock, then into our cooler bag and used it to cool off through out the day. It was lovely. I will probably do it again and then if we don't use it then no biggie.

In 2008 and 2009 we went in mid April and weather was lovely but it was busy. I am hoping for moderate crowds and warm but not disgustingly hot(and humid) weather. I can hope right.

Where are you staying? And for how long?

I've always been interested in that fudge. I look at it and am tempted to get it, but I'm not sure if it'll hit the cravings I have to actually munch on something. It seems more of a taste and savor kind of treat.

Oh no! What a horrible update after the fun MK update! I did think of John on LOST when you said, "Don't tell me what I can't do" (don't know if you know it).

What a fabulous Christmas present! I love the ones that are absolute surprises (and Disney in nature, haha).

Wonderful TR!! Sad to see it come to a close- especially with gettng sick on the way home, but am so looking forward to your next one!! See you on my thread until them. :goodvibes

OMG, I'm so excited that DH got you the Dooney for Christmas! What a great gift! He was good at being sneaky, and it all turned out so well!

I hope you do start a PTR and then do a trip report, I've loved reading about the boys adventures. It is so nice to read TR from other mothers of young boys! :thumbsup2

I don't know how he manages to be so sneaky about Christmas gifts. Jeremy always figures out what I got him. Not that he tries to or anything, I'm just not sneaky enough. :rotfl: The Dooney and Bourke bag was one of his best efforts.

I'm definitely planning on starting a May PTR pretty soon, here. I'll have to start it soon, or there won't be time. I like reading TR from people with little boys, too. :goodvibes

So sorry you had to end your trip with getting sick. But as others have said at least it was on the way home and not during the vacation. Loved reading about your last night tradition with the fudge and soaking up the atmosphere on Main Street. The pictures of the castle all lit up was so amazing. We can't wait to see it ourselves. I think we have finally decided on a December trip. The thought of seeing WDW all decked out for the holidays was just too much to pass up. If it's cold then we will deal with that when it comes. DH always tells me he rather be cold than sweating to death like he was on our trip in August. :rotfl2: I only wish it was this year and not 2012, oh well lots of time to plan

The D&B you got for Christmas is soooo cute!! Can Jeremy call my husband about that :lmao:. DH just ignores all my hints.

I really enjoyed your TR, will defintely be following along if you do a PTR for your trip in May. Happy planning!

I am glad Carter didn't get sick at Disney World. Hopefully next time, we can avoid it all together. I'm thinking of bringing lots of Wet Ones.

The Christmas decorations at Disney are unbelievable. I was so impressed the first time I saw them. They were so much better than I had imagined. I think you all will be really pleased with a Christmas trip. Sometimes in December, the weather is perfectly nice, so maybe that will work out for you all. 2012 will be here pretty soon. It will be really cool to go then, since the expansion will be completed. :thumbsup2

great trip report- will definitely help out on a future trip for us- whenever that may be.

question for you... what kind of car did you take? I am car hunting and want something that will fit my large double stroller plus groceries, etc...

Thanks! Glad I could be helpful. :goodvibes

We have a Honda CRV and I adore it. It's got so much trunk space that I can fit two double strollers and suitcases and all the other stuff we travel with. I love the way it drives and it's very reliable and safe. It's perfect for us.

I've lurked on the DIS for years now, and I finally got up the gumption to make an account and post. I hadn't found anything to remark on until I found your TR. You sound like a wonderful family, and I loved seeing pictures of you and your children in the parks. It was also nice to read a very laid back "wandering" of WDW, considering thats how my boyfriend and I like to vacation there.

Also, thanks for the info about trading vinylmations in the park. I had no idea! I've eyeballed them quite a bit but never purchased due to fear of getting one I didn't like. My tradition is usually buying a pin that reflected events of the trip.

Thanks for taking the time to do this TR, I couldn't stop reading!

PS. Your DH is too sweet.

Thanks! I'm really happy my TR was comment-worthy. :) It's nice to meet some other laid-back Disney people, too. We've always felt that we should get plenty of rest and relaxation on vacation, Disney or not. And babies or not. :rotfl:

A lot of people don't seem to know about Vinylmation trading. :confused3 I think without the trading aspect, it wouldn't be a very fun thing to do. I'd probably get stuck with lots of Cooked Turkeys. I like your meaningful pin tradition. I've really got to remember my lanyard next time.

Thanks for reading and posting! :goodvibes

:lmao: Carter's got some cool moves. :cool1: I really do love that bag. I hope it lasts forever. Jeremy is very stealthy when it comes to setting up surprises. I'm not as good at it, so it was really hard not to give it away on here. :rotfl:

I can't wait to get started on my PTR! I'll be glad to see you over there!

I have really enjoyed your TR and look forward to reading your May PTR! :thumbsup2 I am so sorry that your trip home was so bad. What a great DH to surprise you with the bags.

Thanks for reading! I've had so much fun writing this TR. I'll be glad to see you on my May PTR. :) The ride home was pretty bad. I've had several mishaps while driving to and from Disney- the time I locked the keys in the car in Atlanta, the time the tornado came right past us, etc., but I think Carter being sick may have been the most miserable yet. I guess it's worse when it's your kids feeling bad. And I do have a really great husband. Surprising me with D&B bags is just like him.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked my TR. And remembered it. :rotfl: I'm getting really excited about going back so soon. I've been talking it up to the boys. So far Landon doesn't really seem to care, but Carter seems very interested.

This was our first experience with getting sick during a road trip. I'd rather not repeat it. Poor kids. I'm glad we were okay while at Disney, too. It would have been so miserable to stay inside the room with Carter sick.

Awww...what a wonderful hubby to buy you the bag you wanted! :) That's LOVE!! :)

And so sad that your TR is over. :( So sad.

Oh well...least I'll have your PTR to read...and then your TR after that. ;) Keep me in the Disney spirit for the next year till I really get going on my PTR. ;)

I know! Jeremy's the best.

It looks like I'll have plenty of PTRs and TRs to write for awhile, so that will be fun. I love writing them. I bet next year is going to come really fast. You'll be making ADRs before you know it. :yay:

I am sure it will be hot, but at least it cools off at night. In August, it was still 80 degrees feeling like 90 degrees at midnight!!! ACKK!!! Never again! You had to push your way through the AIR. Where are you staying? And for how long?

It will be nice for it to cool off at night. Epcot always seems really nice at night after a hot day. Something about walking around World Showcase with a cool breeze blowing and seeing all the beautiful countries lit up is so magical.

I really don't mind the heat too much, except for worrying about my boys. I bet they would love to have a cool wash rag to play with during the heat of the day. Landon would probably chew on it, but that would still cool him down, I'm sure.

Moderate crowds and warm weather sounds perfect to me. And no rain, as long as we're hoping. :rotfl: We're staying at Pop Century for 4 nights, the 5th-9th. Just a short trip, but that's okay. Where are you all staying?

I've always been interested in that fudge. I look at it and am tempted to get it, but I'm not sure if it'll hit the cravings I have to actually munch on something. It seems more of a taste and savor kind of treat.

What a fabulous Christmas present! I love the ones that are absolute surprises (and Disney in nature, haha).

I love that fudge. I don't know if it would suit everyone, but I like really sweet things, so it works for me. Actually, I think they give away free samples. Or at least they have in the past. That would be perfect for tasting.

I totally had John in mind when I said it. :rotfl: We loved Lost, at least, until the ending, which we found very unsatisfactory.

Surprise Disney presents really are the best, aren't they?:goodvibes

Wonderful TR!! Sad to see it come to a close- especially with gettng sick on the way home, but am so looking forward to your next one!! See you on my thread until them. :goodvibes

Thanks! I'll be happy to see you on my next TR. And I'll definitely see you on your thread until then. I think I've got a very good chance on this new game. :cool2:

We ahve never had rain in our spring trips. We were there the end of April in 2009 and departed May 1st. I hope to be so lucky again!

We are staying at ASMu. It is our first time there. Our last 3 trips have been at Pop. We really love it there! Make sure you let your boys play in the pop jet fountain, my kids(and we) loved it, A LOT!

;)

Oh dear I have joined in very late. I was just trawling through all the TR's available looking for December offerings and found your first post. That gorgeous photo of your family had me reading along in moments.

Just wanted to say thank you for the great Christmas tips and insight I'm sure I'll get when I go through the rest of your TR. I get the impression from your opening comments there were some rocky moments... nothing too serious I hope.

Michele x

That's good to hear. I don't think it rained at all last year in May. Of course, there were several times last year when it was so hot I would have welcomed the rain. :rotfl:

ASMu is nice. I like the curtains with the sheet music on them. Actually, the pop jet fountain was one of the main reasons I decided to go with Pop. I think the boys will have a great time playing in it, and it will be much easier to manage than trying to take them both to a kiddie pool by myself.

That's okay, it's never too late to join in. :goodvibes Thank you! I still can't believe how good that picture turned out.

I hope you are able to get some great Christmas tips from my TR. Christmas at Disney is so magical. We definitely had two rocky moments, but I guess we all lived to tell about it.

Thank you for sending the vinylmation website, that helps a lot!!

You're welcome! :)

I'm actually going to get a post up later this evening regarding our trip...yes, an actual trip update. :P

Ooh, a trip update! All good news, I hope. :wizard: I'll be over later to check it out.

Kate...I can't believe your TR is over:sad1:but I am so happy that you'll be starting a PTR! Can't wait to hear all about your plans for October!

So sorry about the sickness that you had to endure when you got home...that's never fun! We've had that virus run thru our house and it was definitely not fun:sick:

Your purse is gorgeous..what a sweet hubby you have:woohoo:

I will be looking for that link to your PTR:thumbsup2

I loved your picture of the castle all lit up!!! It came out so beautiful. None of my pics would come out of the lights. Maybe I should have read the manual before we left!
Anyways, Wonderful trip report and totally looking forwards to the next one!:goodvibes

I'm excited about my PTR. This one will be a short one, since our trip is less than three weeks away, but October should be longer.

It's a miserable virus. I think it's even worse with small kids. I'll probably bring lots of Wet Ones for the boys to use on future trips, just in case.

Thanks! I love my purse. Jeremy has good instincts for what I'll like.

Thanks for reading! :)

Thanks! I think we took about 50 pictures of the Castle while we waited for Wishes, each on a slightly different setting until they started looking right. I definitely should read the manual before our next trip.

Thank you! :goodvibes
