That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

Sounds like you had a great time at EMH!!! LOVE your video and the pics!

MK at night is so magical. :wizard:

I get nervous before Dinosaur also because it freaks me out every time I ride it. Even watching Wishes on my computer gives me chills.:goodvibes

Awesome night! Gotta love Auntie Gravity treats! :thumbsup2

That is definitely a great spot over there for the parade, castle show and Wishes. I'm thinking I might hafta try and stand over there too!

Claire smacked you...gotta love sisterly love :rotfl:

Those parents said they had five days left like it was BAD thing or something! Jeez!! ;)

We first discovered Auntie Gravity's on our trip in '09. It was a great place to find a treat to cool off with.

You should! And it really wasn't that crowded either which was another bonus.

haha, yup, I couldn't believe she whacked me. :rotfl:

Magic Kingdom is always an awesome place to be at night. The castle always looks so gorgeous with the lights and all. Then, all the nighttime shows are there. It is just a great place to be during that time. That Orange Soda float looks really good! I must stop by Auntie Gravity's sometime to try that. :) And don't make being misty-eyed before Wishes sound like you shouldn't, generally people do. It is such a heart-warming show. I always smile when I watch it, well I've only seen it once and it was from Fantasyland, so I must watch it from the front next time. :goodvibes Can't wait to hear more about those next five days! Update soon! :mickeyjum

Yeah, at Auntie Gravity's it's just kind of a generic soda float but you pick the ice cream flavor (vanilla or chocolate) and the ice cream. The orange soda one pretty much tastes like a creamsicle. Yum.

I love your nighttime castle/Fantasyland pics! MK is just so pretty at night:goodvibes That orange soda float looks delicious! And I really love the Magic, Memories, and You show too, I wasn't expecting much but was blown away by how cool the projections were.
Can't wait to hear more!

Give me anything with orange soda and I am happy. So good. LOL.

I was amazed with the castle show too. Some of the projections were pretty neat. I was watching a video the other day and forgot about some of it!

Love. love the photo of the castle with different colors on it.
Great location for Wishes, and I am a teary eyed watcher too.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has teared up at Wishes. I always feel like a moron but it's nice knowing other people get the same way.

The castle is so beautiful with all the different color lights on it! I can't wait to see the Magic, Memories and You show, it looks like it's going to be awesome!

You had such a great spot for Wishes! Don't worry, I tear up every time too! :rotfl:

It was nice to get a different perspective on Wishes and we had a really good view of Tinkerbell flying overhead.

What a great spot to see the castle and fireworks :thumbsup2 I can't quite picture where it is though... Is it the path that goes right by the Plaza restaurant towards the Tomorrowland noodle station? It's great but rare to have the path through the castle opened. Looks like you scored on that!

Yeah, it does sort of go towards the Tomorrowland Noodle Station. It's kind of near the end of the sidewalk before the hub.

Wishes makes me get misty eyed as well. Just can't help it!

I know, right?!

I LOVE Wishes. It's my favortie show out of everything! I was suprised the first time I seen it, how much it touched me.

I love your video of the Castle show. I'm so sad we missed that one thing:sad2:

Aww, bummer you missed it when you were there. Hopefully next time. :thumbsup2

Nice update :)

Wishes gives me chills every time! Even when I'd be leaving the tunnel after work and hear the music, I would always get chills..it never goes away!! I only get emotional when it's like my last trip or when I moved from FL but chills I always get!

After a certain time, they don't keep up the tip board. A guest relations CM stand there and does it and after awhile they just stop doing it..it has nothing to do with the crowd levels or EMH. It's odd since all the other tips boards are always kept up but I guess DHS and AK close early most of the time and Epcot's is electronic but there's something about MK haha. You learn something new every day!!!

The first time we saw Wishes, it was the last night of one of our trips. I sobbed. So now my rule is I cannot see it on the last night, otherwise I know I'll be a mess.:rolleyes:

Hmm, interesting about the tip board. Thanks for sharing!

I'm excited to see the new show....sounds beautiful. I teared up when you were talking about getting emotional at Wishes....I almost always cry!

You will enjoy the new show. But be prepared, if you tear up for Wishes, you might get a little misty-eyed for this one too!

What a great spot for the nighttime shows! The Memories show looks very cool :thumbsup2

It really was a neat show. The technology is mind-boggling. So amazing what they can come up with.

Did I really smack you after Wishes? I don't really remember that!

haha, yes you did!

Sounds like you had a great time at EMH!!! LOVE your video and the pics!

MK at night is so magical. :wizard:

Glad you liked the pictures/video!

I get nervous before Dinosaur also because it freaks me out every time I ride it. Even watching Wishes on my computer gives me chills.:goodvibes

For me, nothing compares to seeing Wishes in person.

I could stare at the Castle changing colors all night! :cloud9:

I know, it's so pretty. :goodvibes

*I have to apologize up front for the lack of photos for this day. Due to the pouring/nonstop rain I really didn't feel like ruining my camera!*

When we woke up Monday morning, we were preparing ourselves for bad weather. Though part of me was still hoping that maybe it wasn't going to be as bad as they were predicting. Yeah right...Our original plan was to go to Hollywood Studios but then Dad suggested we go to Epcot since there's a lot more indoor attractions there. We thought about it but in the end, we decided to stick to DHS. Making sure to bring along our ponchos (we would not be buying the Disney ones!), we were ready to go.

A shot of the bus stop hints at the gloomy weather to come...

Fortunately, the rain held off and we were able to get to the park and get in line before anything started.

As we were in line though, we noticed people starting to put on ponchos. I thought that was weird considering it wasn't raining at all. :confused3 Then I realized we were standing under one of the covers. Oops. Sure enough, it was starting to sprinkle. But because I hate ponchos, I was not quite ready to put one on yet. I atleast had my sweatshirt and could put up the hood if I needed it.

When we got onto Hollywood Boulevard, it smelled like plastic. I'm not kidding. This was just the beginning of a sea of ponchos.

I also happened to overhear some woman proclaim, "Oh my god, it's POURING!" Ummm...not exactly. I wonder what she thought of later in the day. hehe But because of the rain, there was no opening show. So off we went with the masses to Toy Story Mania! We again utilized our strategy of riding first, then getting the fastpasses. You can get on the ride pretty fast if you get in the standby line first. The ride was great as usual and I walked off with a sore arm (as usual :)). When we got outside, the rain was a little bit steadier, but still not poncho-worthy. We grabbed our fastpasses as quickly as we could and walked briskly back to Sunset Boulevard to ride two more of our favorites, Tower of Terror and Rock 'N Roller Coaster. I'm pretty sure we did single riders for RNRC.

Well, by the time we got out of RNRC, the skies just opened. At the exit everyone was putting on their ponchos so there was kind of a backup trying to get out. We took refuge under the cover near the restroom as we tried to come up with a plan. Clearly it was time to finally bust out the ponchos, like it or not. I had briefly ran out in the rain and quickly returned for cover when my sweatshirt sleeve got drenched in a matter of seconds. So much for it keeping me warm anymore.

It's hard to tell that it's raining but this is the one picture I do have of the rain that morning. It was NUTS!

When we were finally ready to take on the rain, we made a mad dash toward the Great Movie Ride. We of course had to find some shelter along the rain, but even the undercover areas were no use. The rain was coming down so hard the streets/sidewalks were flooded in some parts (not badly, just enough to get our shoes and socks soaking wet). I think it would almost be more appropriate to say we were "squishing" our way to the GMR because our feet were drenched. :sad2:

We decided that before going into the GMR we were going to ask for a plastic bag at the Sorcerer's Hat so we could put our wet ponchos in them. Turns out it was a good idea because as it turns out (and not surprisingly I guess), the CMs make you take off your rain gear before going on any rides. We quickly discovered that was a pain.

The line was a little longer than usual because of everyone running for cover but we still made it on in under ten minutes. We ended up being in the first ride vehicle. I was hoping this meant we would finally get the western scene instead of the gangster scene. Before long we were on our way into the movies with our guide, Connie.

We got to the gangster scene but we didn't stop. YEAH!!!! We were finally going to get the western scene for the first time in years! :cool1:

So atleast that was something positive. ;)

Still, the rain was not about to let up anytime soon so we'd have to find more things to do inside. Where would we go next? Stay tuned! popcorn::

I've heard lots of people say they either get the Gangster scene or the western scene. We got both!, one on each trip. I must be special:lmao:

Sorry you got drenched, but my guess for the next thing you did is..................Beauty & the Beast or Indaina Jones!

Looks a lot like our DHS day in January! Except the crowds all fled so everything was a walk-on! It was great! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you had to endure rain. I've been so lucky as to not get caught in it on both my trips (LOL) You still got to go on a few rides luckily. I can't believe you got to enjoy the cowboy scene. They never have the cowboy scene running. I've gone during Morning EMH, it was my first ride and they still had the gangster scene. The cowboy scene looks a ton cooler. I think to see that would be my goal for my next trip. Can't wait to hear more, update soon! :mickeyjum

Sorry about the rain but at least you were at DHS which is small and there are a number of things you can do inside!!

Ahh the smell of plastic...
we haven't done the GMR in so long I don't remember any of the scenes, need to change that and not miss it this trip.

Ugh my parents and I hated the routine of taking the ponchos off for every ride too. It was so annoying taking them off, putting them back on, and repeating that like 50 more times:sad2: Glad you got to see the cowboy scene though!

*I have to apologize up front for the lack of photos for this day. Due to the pouring/nonstop rain I really didn't feel like ruining my camera!*

If you had my snazzy new waterproof camera this wouldn't have been an issue :thumbsup2

Yay for getting the cowboy scene! Boo for all the rain!!

I think you'll head to the Animation Academy next, drawing is fun and a good way to get out of the rain!

Did you bring another pair of shoes?

I actually got sick and over heated wearing my poncho. I used my umbrella and it kept me dry.

I just love watching people run and freak out when it starts raining. When it's pouring, there's hardly anyone out walking around, and if they are, they have ponchos. We're the weirdos who don't use ponchos, so everyone is staring at us as we're walking out in the rain. We don't want to miss out on our Disney days!!

Holyyyyy cow, that is a lot of rain!! I'm glad you guys didn't let it get you down or hold you up, though.

You know, we've never had the cowboy side of the GMR either...I think I'll have to ask for it this time!

What a bummer with all the rain, but sure looks like you made the best of it. I hate the ponchos more than I can say....I always just use an umbrella, I get far too hot in them and I hate the way they feel:confused3 I think you're going to do a little drawing......

The people that I laugh at are the ones who pull out the ponchos with the first few raindrops. They must think they're the Wicked Witch of the West. Especially when it's hot and humid I'm more comfortable getting a little wet than I am wearing a plastic heat shield.

Unless it is really pouring, Id rather just wear a cap and a light jacket and accept the fact that I'm going to be wet. If it's really pouring I move quickly to buildings.
