That's A Whole Lotta Mickey Waffles! June PTR

I forgot to mention that the last couple days we planned to eat at the resort, and of course Mickey waffles is at the top of the list!

On this day we will head to Animal Kingdom. We probably will just eat a snack at our resort for breakfast this morning because I plan on picking up some goodies from the bakery at the resort or cinnamon rolls from MK the day before. We have lunch reservations at Yak & Yeti. I'm very excited about this one. It looks like our kind of food! We'll do whatever we didn't accomplish at AK the time before, then head back to the resort for a nice long rest time and pool time. This is our last full day at WDW. So sad! We plan to head to Downtown Disney that evening for some shopping. I hope to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express for dinner. We plan to use up some snack credits at Goofy's Candy Co.

Just read through your plans.....exciting! We are planning to be in WDW June 8-15. Also, my husband and I both teach, too! We have been traveling to the world every summer for about 10 years now, and we love it! Did you all get the free dining this year? I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a pin...but I am starting to give up hope. I can't wait to hear more about your trip. I think you are going to enjoy it much more this year because you are more experienced, and it sounds like you are not trying to go commando style. Now that we have relaxed and slowed down, we enough it much more. Also, I think you will love the shows. Lion King is amazing!

No free dining, but we did use the Disney Visa discount. Not quite as much, but better than nothing! Maybe we'll see you down there! It's nice to meet other teachers too. I can't wait to relax and take it easy. I want to actually be on vacation, not a regimented touring plan!

On this day we plan to head to Epcot. It has EMH this morning, but I doubt we'll make it. We shall see. We will have the last of our Mickey Waffles that morning. We have lunch at Coral Reef planned. This is my husband's request. He's wanted to eat there for as long as he's known it existed. We've just never made it. We'll hang out at Epct and do what we can do. The Magical Express, or at this point the Unmagical Express will be picking us up at about 5:00 p.m. We have a late night flight home. We plan to pack in as much as we can until then!

I recently noticed some of the EMH hours have changed. They have extended some of the hours we were planning on attending. Yay!

Update!

We went to the Disney Store and my husband and I each got a t-shirt for the trip. I got an Eeyore one and he got a Goofy shirt that suits him well. I looked for some things for the boys, but nothing struck me.

When we got home my husband started watching Celtic Thunder, which he loves. I told him, once again, about Raglan Road. It didn't take much convincing and we have a reservation there now the night before we leave. Our kind of food, and our kind of music. The kids, especially C, will love it!

I've tweaker our ADR's once again! Coral Reef seems to get such bad reviews. Though my husband really wanted to eat there, there are too many other good choiced to give a try! So we switched it to Via Napoli. We really debated on a few others, but Via Napoli won out. The funny thing is, I canceled Via Napoli in order to eat at Coral Reef, and now I've switched it back again. Call me the ADR yoyo!

9 more days until check in!

Meanwhile my husband thinks we should cancel Via Napoli on the last day and just eat CS that day. We may end up doing that, but I don't want to cancel it until we are down there. I'd rather have it booked because I know what is going to happen. He's going to hear someone raving about it then kick himself for talking me into canceling it. So, for now it stays!

I'll be calling tomorrow to check on a split stay when the discount comes out to the general public. Or maybe not. We love POR but I'd like to try Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, so I'm thinking about a split stay. But maybe I should just leave things as they are, because we really do love POR. Why can't I just stay settled?

We are almost paid in full. One more week and one more payment. Six more days and we get to check in. I think I've finally convinced my husband to keep Via Napoli! We were talking today about trying to make our next trip over spring break next year. I hope we can!

Tomorrow is 60 days! I'll be checking in online. It seems to be getting closer!

If only the Dessert Party would open!

Hi :wave2:

I am reading along with your plans.

Congrats on the weight loss, I know how difficult that can be sometimes and that is a great accomplishment, 100 pounds :woohoo:

Our first stay at Disney was POR in the mansion section in 2006, we also loved it. What a lovely resort. :lovestruc

I am glad you have your plans for the heat this year. We also learned our heat lessons after our first trip in June 2006. We ended up with a sick dehydrated child. Luckily, we were in the room when it happened and we were able to alter our plans and keep him at the resort in the AC for the day and resting.

May I suggest Backlot Express for Lunch at DHS. It is average CS fare but it is indoors and the refill station is self serve. This is why we like it.

I also really enjoy watching Celtic Thunder. I am such a PBS nerd.

So exciting, online check-in tomorrow!

Thank you for reading along! By the way, I'm a former Hoosier :) . Good to know about Backlot Express. Air conditioning may reign supreme over food quality.

I was able to check in today. No problems at all. I don't know the advantage, but it's done and knowing we're 60 days out makes it feel so much closer!

We've been counting down to Disney with a Disney Dinner and a movie. Tonight we watched Snow White. We had bratwurst and pretzels. It was fun. My 13 year old even had a friend over and he was watching it with us having a good time. Now that is a good friend.

We've made another change. I was really stressing about the lack of air conditioned quality dining choices at Hollywood Studios. Especially on a Star Wars Weekend day. So I looked online for openings at Sci Fi or 50's Prime Time. 50's was open at the time I wanted, so we booked it. Yay! Air conditioning and good food!

Oh I forgot to add we booked the car service to and from the airport. We'll be riding in a stretch limo! So excited! Granted we're leaving at 5:45 a.m. and coming back home around midnight. I'm just so happy we won't have to drive or deal with parking.
