I am watching a rerun of a parade that my high school's marching band was in the day after Thanksgiving. It was so much fun.
Anyways, we were doing our routine and one of the camera men got into one of the color guard members' face. She went to bring the flag up in one part of our routine. The camera man was too close and she WHACKED him and whacked him good. It was so funny. Noone in the color guard saw it, but she told us that she did after we were done right before we got on the buses. My parents taped it for me so when I got home I watched it. I kept rewinding it because it was so funny. Her face is the best part. She had about 5 different facial expressions in 10 seconds. I am cracking up watching it now. That is one of the classic guard moments.

I suppose camera men should watch where they're filming, but those flags HURT!! I'm just a klutzy band parent-chaperone who walked right into a flag routine warm-up once, not watching where I was going, and whack!! Boy, did I learn my lesson, and hopefully the camera man did also.

I know they hurt. I've whacked myself a couple times. But we have specific instructions that if ayone gets in our way, hit 'em. It was just really funny because that girl is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. I know she felt soo bad when she hit them, but her face was priceless.
