That thing that changes the channel

My fully programmable one is the Commander .
It's made by Sony and is called the Remote Commander.
This thing rocks i haven't found something I can't program it to do.
I even mess with DD sometimes all the way down the hall 4 room away . I can set up a mirror and bounce it to change the TV and Cable down there.

Kiddos need to be reminded from time to time (channel to channel) that parents are all powerful!

The remote is the 'flicker' or 'clicker' in our family. Occassionally the 'channel changer".
If it is lost it is always the "#%*@$ flicker", so alliterative!

Push button is what we used to call them there new fangled phones -- we weren't giving up our rotary phones for push buttons without a fight! (not laughing AT you OP, just WITH you! )

We call it the remote control. Never remote, thingie or clicker. We're formal like that I guess.

We usually call it the flipper as well. Or, more precisely, the remote flipper. I have no idea why. We used to call it the remote, I don't know why it changed!

I guess we're different we call it a flicker. My aunt's family calls it a puncher which of course I think is much stranger than a flicker.

My DS4 used to say that up until a few months ago. We just call it "the remote".

I have heard "clicker" before but never "push button".
