That one moment **TISSUE ALERT**

So I just finished reading all 26 pages and cried through most of them. I've wanted to go to Disney World my whole life but we always did "real" family vacations (Grand Canyon, camping in Colorado, seeing the oceans, etc) and while I loved those vacations...I always secretly wished that my parents would decide that that summer's trip would be Disney.
So after finishing college and getting married I was coming up with a list of things I wanted to do with my life before starting a family and I realized that what I wanted to do more than anything else was to go to Disney as a kid before I had my own. I needed "my" Disney trip. So after 2 years of saving every extra penny from my paychecks...we're leaving for Disney in 3 weeks. I am BEYOND excited. And I've already warned DH that I will probably cry every day while we're there. He just smiled at me and said, "I know"

I hope you have the most amazing trip and that each day is magical for you! Make sure you hug Mickey! :thumbsup2

Our moment was last year...We were at MK, our last day of vacation. We'd had a very tough previous year due to having 3 MC's...shortly before our trip we had made the decision to begin the adoption process and I know I was viewing our trip as the beginning of a brand new start for us.

We were on our way out of MK to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's when dd5 stopped to trade pins with a CM on Main Street. We chatted with him for a bit and he asked us where were from, why we had taken our trip, etc. and he spent some time talking with dd. He then looked up at all of us and says, "You're just the family I was looking for...How would you like to be Grand Marshal's in the parade today?" :cloud9: I immediately started to cry...It's hard to explain, but somehow it felt like a validation and acknowledgment of everything we had been through - and of course we said "Yes!!"

It was an amazing experience and I kept leaning over to dd during the parade telling her to remember every moment...truly our most treasured Disney memory!

Mine is more a story of CM created magic than a tear jerker...

In 1999 my DS was 4 and had a bit of trouble with motion sickness. We were on the bus trying to make rope drop at AK when his breakfast went auto reverse all over him and all over me. We hopped off the bus at the very next stop, Blizzard Beach and found two CM who were sweeping up out front and while BB wasn't open yet. They let us in and took us to a family restroom with a shower and gave us towels and toiletries to clean up and then took my husband to the gift shop, that opened early and sold him clean shirts for both of us and shorts for my son.

They then took our dirty clothes and arranged for package delivery back to our room and took us to the first aid station where they gave my son some gatoraid and let him cool down and rest until he felt better. After he was feeling better they put us in a private van backstage and drove all of us to the front gates at AK. And I'd been dreading the package arriving at the resort and trying to deal with the mess in a hotel room sink but no worries.
When the package arrived back at our resort the clothes had been laundered and folded and delivered back to our room. WOW

We called BB and told the managers how wonderful Joe and Susie were and sent an email complimenting their above and beyond measures when we get home asking a copy to be placed in their personell file.

The next year we went back and visited Blizzard Beach and our darling boy then 5 insisted we ask if Joe and Susie were still there and a CM found them and sent them over to us. DS asked if they remembered helping him and gave them both a big thank you hug. They were all beaming and he got to say thank you.

Disney doesn't just create magic but can turn a tough situation around. Where else could you receive such customer service? We are so grateful and are looking forward to the magic when we head back this November to celebrate that little boy who is now 16 and will complete his Eagle Scout rank ths fall. I wonder if Joe and Susie are still there and if he's too big to hug them now.

One more, because I am married to the most darling man in the world.

I had just found these boards and created my user name preparing for our December 08 trip. My first name is Dawn and when I was a little girl I had a copy of the Little Golden Book of Disney's Sleeping Beauty and on the first page it says "they named her Aurora, which means Dawn" I always joked that I was destined to be a Disney Princess since birth.

Right before we left he asked me to open one Christmas gift early. I tore the paper off the package and found a first edition Little Golden Book copy of Disney's Sleeping Beauty he'd found on ebay with a note about always being his favorite princess. Yeah, he's my Prince Charming too.

I have posted this story before on different threads...but...it is still my favorite Disney moment....DD was about 4 and a half and very into ALL things princess...we went to 1900 Park Fare on the first night for dinner. THis was her first time to meet Cinderella. She was invited to dance with the Prince first...so sweet...they bowed to each other and danced the sweetest most graceful dance. She was floating on air and beaming from ear to ear...my mom and I were watching with big fat tears welling up...ahhh...such a sweet moment...never to be forgotten...I have got to figure out how to post the pics on here...

Let's see if I can figure out how to post the pic that goes with the story...

When I was at Disneyland with my son and we had just gotten off Peter Pan's Flight. He looked up at me with wide eyes and said, "Mommy, I think we were really flying!". He was 7 then. Four years later we're heading to Disneyworld with his 7 year old brother! Who knows what magic will happen now.

Must.stop.reading! OMG, I'm bawling like a baby. I'm gonna be such a mess come May. We're taking DD, age 3, for her first trip and she's so totally into princesses that I just know the moment she sees them she's gonna freak out!:lovestruc And so am I!

We had moved about half the country away for a job, and it had been a pretty crummy, lonely year, to top it off, one of DW's Grandmothers passed away a week before we were to leave.

We thought about not going and using the money to go the the funeral, but DMIL said no, DGm would have wanted us to go and have a good time.

The day of DGm's funeral was our 1st Epcot day - and, well, it was a truly exceptional, blessed, once-in-a-lifetime days. We were picked to be the Epcot family of the day, and everything just went perfect for us. We knew that DGm was with us and did want us to be there...

Here is my tissue story...

In March 2001, I decided to take my daughter because I felt that at age 7, she would remember and appreciate the experience more...I mean, WDW is a once in a lifetime trip, right?! ;)

I went when I was 5 in 1978 and hadn't been back, so I really didn't know what to expect, how to plan, etc. We entered the MK to find unreal crowds: it was Spring Break. Because my daughter was young and mainly into princesses, we spent all 4 days at MK. Looking back, that was a smart choice since it took us 4 days to ride/see everything with those crowds!

On our last night, we watched the Main Street Electrical parade and watched the castle change colors while the park emptied. My daughter and I both cried when we knew we had to leave and say goodbye to WDW. I told her right by the exit that we would try our best to come back for her 16th birthday and she was thrilled!

When we arrived back at the All Star Movies, my daughter realized with horror that she lost her Mickey Ears, embroidered with her name. She was so upset but I calmed her down and told her I would do what I could to get her some more - we were still in FL after all!

The next morning, we headed over to MK to ask if anyone had turned in her ears. I explained to the Cast Member what happened and was told they would have gone to central Lost & Found IF they were even turned in! I then asked if there was some way a CM could go and get us another set. Instead, she just smiled and gave us each a 1 day Park Pass and told us we could head over to the Chapeau ourselves.

When we entered the shop we told them about the lost ears and they were so sweet to my daughter. They did a fabulous job on the embroidery and they looked even better than the first ones! When I tried to pay, they refused and said that "Mickey would want her to have them". I thanked them profusely, then went outside and cried!!! I couldn't believe the kindness - it truly was magical!

Needless to say, that day changed my entire outlook.

And my daughter and I have since been 9 more times - INCLUDING this past November for her 16th birthday, as promised. :)

This is a picture of my magic moment. it was the first day of our trip and we were standing in front of the castle waiting for the Christmas lighting show. This is my daughter's reaction. The second picture shows what she was seeing :)
