Okay, so I have been reading for about 30-40 minutes now and crying during almost every post. I am always saddened by people who think Disney is just another vacation spot. I have now read 76 posts that say differently.
This is why I love Disney!
I do have a few moments to share.
The first is actually my DH's moment, and truth that anyone can become a kid again. DH was 8 the first and only time his parents took him to WDW. They were "world travelers" and didn't really get the Disney thing. To top it off, my DH wasn't the best behaved kid either. All he wanted was to meet Donald Duck. As the trip was nearing a close, and DH never saw Donald, he apparently threw the worlds biggest fit (pretty bad being 8 and all). So, fast forward 13 years when DH (then DBF) comes to WDW with my family, extended and all, probably 20 of us. He ran down Main Street with more excitement than many young children. Thinking back, it was so cool. When we went to the Judges Tent to finally meet Donald, DH had a smile on his face that would melt your heart. He chose WDW as our honeymoon spot (even though I secretly wished for it).
My "magical moments" happened in June of 2007 when we took our DS (then 14mon) for his first trip. I had no expectations of magic with DS at this early age. I went into that trip thinking, this is a trip for the grownups and he's here for the ride. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. I had read on wdwinfo.com that the barber shop on Main St. specialized in first haircuts. Now, DS needed one at 8 months (darn hair grows like weeds), but I refused! Our first day in the parks, we walked into the barber shop and my baby boy wasn't a baby anymore. She sat him on that chair, spoke to him in the most calming, melodic, hypnotizing voice and he was mesmerized. He stared out the door just listening to her. She reminded me of a fairy from Sleeping Beauty...shape and all

I don't know if there was any better place for him to get his first haircut. I cry thinking about how special that moment was for DH, my parents, and myself.
This same trip, but the last day in the park, we had had enough of AK. It was just soooo hot that we needed to head back to the resort. We decided to catch FotLK if it was playing soon. We got in about 10 minutes before the show started, sat up almost to the top of the bleachers and waited. To be honest, I was just relieved to have airconditioning! As soon as the music started and the performers came out, DS stood up on my dad's legs and made the most beautiful sounds any mother could hear. He was oohing and aahing like only a baby can. He was jumping up and down, grunting with excitement. He had his very first magical experience in Disney and when I looked up at my dad (for whom DS was named) he wiped a tear from his eye. There I was, thinking that I wouldn't be able to make memories with DS until he was older, emersed in the middle of the single most important memory that I have of Disney (20+ visits). FotLK will always be on my list of "must do no matter what's" because I can never think of it without tearing up! Now that DS will be almost 3, I cannot wait to be with him when he experiences this again!
Thank you to all who have shared, and provided me with the opportunity to share my story. It's always great to shed tears of happiness...even if that happy Disney memory comes from something sad.
