I cannot believe he is still on the program. I got sick of seeing him every night so I stopped watching it for a couple months. Tonight I turn it on and there he is! $1.6 million. That's just not right. How are they finding people to go up against him?

According to GMA, he loses after he's won something like $2.1 million - so I guess he still has a couple of days left!

I've wondered the same thing - about where they find people to go up against him.

I also wonder if we're the only 2 people in America who go tired of him? ;) We stopped watching, too - and then happened to "surf" past it one night to see they were doing "Tournament of Champions" or teens, or kids & started watching again.

He just won again but he got the Final Jeopardy wrong.

America has not tired of him. Jeopardy's ratings have soared. Viewership is at an all-time high. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the ratings once he finally loses and is off the show.

I guess we ARE the only people in America tired of Ken Jennings. I must admit he is quite amazing though.

He seems to be average guy with a great memory on a lot of subjects.::yes:: :wave2:

Yes, after his 74th appearance he does lose. At least that is what was reported.

In the article I read, the show will air sometime in November.

I don't usually watch Jeopardy, but because of all the hype of this guy over the summer, I watched a few shows. I listened to the hype, and it is not that he is the smartest guy in the world, he is extremely smart, but I am sure there are other's who could beat him....he has the buzzer figured out. nobody can beat him at buzzing in....so, once I watched a few episodes, I got tired of watching him out-buzz the other contestants.

I think my 84 year old mother hates his guts. Calls him arrogant and smug. A real Mr Know It All!

It's not that I dislike him. I really enjoyed him in the beginning. After a couple weeks, I just felt bad for all the opponents. DD (13) agrees. He's amazing, but it has stopped being fun. I don't like "knowing" the outcome - and not because we already know he'll lose.

I feel awful, but the only reason we're tuning in now is to see him get beat! Once we see the score & how much he has to date we turn it off, because he's not close enough to his final total.

All the contestants he's trounced should form a support group.

I don't get it.

It's OK to pay intellectually challenged athletes who barely graduate from high school and couldn't use proper grammar if someone from Oxford's Dictionary spoke for them, MILLIONS of dollars a year--Hell a $90,000,000 contract from Nike to a high school kid BEFORE he ever played a day in the pros is now the norm, but let someone use his BRAIN to make some money and everyone hates him and wats to see him lose.

Fantastic message to send our kids--dont stay in school, who needs a college education. Better yet, apply to Oklahoma State, after all, they gave Dexter Manley a college diploma--AND THE GUY COULD NOT READ!!!!, but he was one hell of a football player.

I have no idea how to fix this--but I bet Kerry and Edwards have a plan--they have to--they keep telling us they have all kinds of plans. I need to ask them.

Jeopardy is supposed to be entertainment. (In addition to making big bucks for the network! ;) ) It lost some of its entertainment value when the outcome of each night's match-up appeared to be certain.

For years winners were limited to 5 nights. When someone made it the full 5 nights it was exciting. For 3-4 weeks I found it exciting that Ken Jennings was still beating all challengers. After that it kind of lost its appeal.

Why? I don't know, but it certainly isn't because I think it's okay to pay professional athletes obscene amounts of money! The link between the two concepts is pretty thin IMHO!

Yes, the guy is incredible! In our household we find intellectual match-ups far more entertaining than physical ones. (Read: We don't watch sports.) He deserves every penny he's earned & I'm glad he had the opportunity.

However, I kind of object to having incorrect opinions attributed to me in a simple online thread. JMHO

Yahoo! I'm glad my Mom and I aren't the only people tired of him. He's getting way to cocky. Doesn't he have enough money yet? If you invest right you can live off $1,000,000 (possibly even just the interest). Every time we turn it on we are like "He's still on..."  I am so sick of him. Only a few people have gotten close to beating him. I really hate it when it gets to final Jeopardy and no one even has a chance to catch him. I can't wait until November if someone actually beats him.

Piratesmate,

I don't believe I attributed anything I said to you or stated that I thought this was your opinion.

It is simply my response to the topic.

If I were to ascribe an interpretation to something I read on any board, I would make it quite clear.

I don't blame you for objecting to having incorrect opinions attributed to you--I would also.

The problem is: This stuff is hard work, and we're working hard at it. Even weekends. Eat lunch at our desks. Why? To come up with a plan. And we have a plan. We have all kinds of plans. We especially plan on not working hard--because it's hard work.

Have a great day!

Yes, I am tired of him too!!!

Can't wait to see the person who beats him! I bet they felt really good about being the one to finally beat him.

I wish they would go back to 5 day champs.

IMHO, Jeopardy and pro sports have nothing to do w/ each other! I am glad the guy is getting a lot of money, but I still don't like him!

:o :o Ummmm - Please ignore the overly sensitive woman behind the screen. I am the great and powerful Oz! ;)

Sorry. I'm just out of sorts this morning.

Had I known you were the Great and powerful Oz, I most definitely would have clarified my statement!

Hope you are back in sorts soon! :teeth:
