"That Guy" at the Laugh Floor

DH was "that guy" the only time we went. They were joking that he had a Tom Selleck mustache and kept going back to him. The funniest thing was as we were exiting this little girl looked up at him and said loudly "hey, it's That Guy!"

I wasn't "that guy" but I did get picked on by Buddy Boil for his mind reading routine.
I was too on my second time in the show. So I knew the routine. I looked up and there I was on the huge screen! My son was irritated because he wanted to be picked so bad!

I think some people just have that something that makes them stand out. DH has been chosen out of the whole arena at Indiana Jones, by street entertainers at HS, 3 times for lets make a Deal and actually payed once, the backlot tour show with the boat, Epcot Japanese performer had him help with the candy shaping, Light Camera Action. Me, NADDA!

Last october dh had to take a bathroom break and skipped laugh floor and ds was asked some questions. unfortunately he is painfully shy so I so I was answering for him which was made into a joke too. Can't believe dh missed it.

Yes, I was picked for the mind reading routine too. The funny thing is, I got separated from my family as we entered the show, so I was sitting far away from them, and during that same show my husband was picked to be "that guy".

We've never had someone be "that guy", but my daughter was Boo twice. The first time she froze and made all these crazy faces but she played into it the second time. Both times we heard "hey, that's Boo!" randomly during the rest of the day.

I always wanted my daughter to be picked as Boo since that is her nickname, she never was. I was picked as the rebel spy once though on Star Tours.

Ooh totally forgot about that! On our first ride on Star Tours I was the rebel spy too. MAde my whole day!

We tend to get picked for a lot of stuff. Our family is very animated and have ZERO problem making fools of ourselves in public.

That sweater is hysterical!!

My daughter (14) was the leader of the Mickey Mouse Club! She had split off with some friends, and I did not get to see it, but she was so excited!

Hmm . . . maybe it was because you were trying NOT to be noticed. I was picked on once for something at MLF and I really didn't want them to notice me either. Maybe you had a "please don't pick me" :scared: look on your face. They might figure it's funnier with someone who doesn't want to be in the spot light.

DD's fiance was "That Guy" this September. He had a backward baseball cap, tie-dye tank top and a thick silver chain on, so they pointed out how "80s" he looked - which is funny because he was born in the 90s. :) It was his first time at the show, so it really made it memorable. We still tease him that he owes everybody churros.

We are probably the most average family, lawyer, principal, kid wearing normal t shirts. We've been to the show on every visit and sit all over the place. DH has been That Guy once and the Mind Reader twice. DD was Boo the first time we went but I assumed it was because she was dressed up as Alice after a BBB trip. She did not know what to make of it since we had never been.

My husband is 6'4" and 300+ lbs. He thinks he keeps getting chosen because everyone picks on "the big man."

Thats funny, I always do that too if I'm in near proximity of "that guy" when we leave the theatre and then I've done it a couple other times when I see "that guy" somewhere else in the park later on.

Would a giant hat give you the inside track on becoming That Guy?

Would a giant hat give you the inside track on becoming That Guy?
Maybe. It depends on how many people had the same idea as this.

My husband had a blue cooling towel around his neck last August when we went. He got picked, but he was referred to as "the sham wow guy." :hyper:
