That darn Travel Channel!

This morning we watched the AKL on the travel channel and tonight the YC/BC. Now I want to try both, and I am a total Polynesian lover!!! My 12 yr old loved what she saw of the YC/BC pool. Guess I gotta plan some trips!

The Travel Channel is torture, isn't it? After seeing the BC/YC segment I have decided to blow my remaining DVC points on a BC stay in September (we were going to go cheap at OKW or BWV and bank some for next year).

That pool looks fantastic!

I agree, we have visited the YC/BC and knew we'd like to try the BC some day. But I have been really wanting to stay at the Beach Club since I saw the segment on Travel Channel. However, I have no desire to stay at AKL, especially since I saw the AKL show. I think we'll try the Beach Club when my daughter is older when she can really enjoy the pool and storm along bay.

Every time we watch one of those specials we change our minds on where we want to stay!! The YC/BC pool really through a wrench in our plans!

CinMell, Stormalong Bay is great for ALL ages! We were there last summer and my kids were 7 and 4. Both LOVED it. There is a whole section surrounded by sand, deep like at the real beach. The water is this area is only a few feet deep and tons of little kids were enjoying the afternoon digging channels and making forts and just having a ball. There is a big slide for brave kids and a teeny slide around back for little guys. You can rent tubes for floating or just relax. It really is wonderful! Don't wait until you child is older -- but beware! You'll get spoiled and keep wanting to go back (as we are, this June!)

Is the YC & BC great!?!! Samantha Brown did 3 special episodes on America's Great Hotels on Thursday & Friday evenings, & of course, she included YC & BC in all of them!! All in all, she named them the most Family Friendly resort she's ever visited!

Hmmm, makes me wonder if the Travel Channel will come back & update the scenes of the guest rooms since they're almost done rehabbing them; it seems kind of "old hat" seeing them as they were. Samantha did say that she wanted to check out the YC in case she wanted to stay there 1 day...hmm....


O well...YC RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh boy! My favorite subject. The YC & BC. Our favorite resorts. You guys who are thinking of trying it will not be sorry. Stormalong Bay is an attraction in it's own right. We love it and we especially love walking to Epcot, the Boardwalk and MGM. I've seen the travel channel special but I'll certainly watch it again tonight.

Get this - we booked the Grand Floridian last year. It was great BUT we missed Stormalong Bay and Epcot resort area so much we switched over to the Beach Club. Hard to imagine leaving the flagship resort at WDW, but we did.
