I know someone used it and i cant remember who...it lookslike a octopus... it holds on to like, railings so you can take a picture of yourself with someone?

The small ones (for point-and-shoot cameras) cost about $25. The big ones (for SLRs) cost about $50.

They are FABULOUS! They let you steady the camera, and you can use the timer to take pics of yourself without doing the arm-stretch thing.

Hey, we've gotten quite good at the arm-stretch thing! That's how we took the photo in my avatar...though it is hard trying to get full-body shots!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE GorillaPod!!! Here are a few of my favorite GorillaPod photos (that I took on a $88 camera!):

A timed exposure . . . Brian set the camera on the ground and had it pointed up at us.

IllumiNations with the camera propped onto a garbage can.

Morocco . . . the most crystal clear photo I've ever seen taken by my camera. The small resize doesn't do it justice!
