Toy Story Land is awesome for what it is. It is a minor secondary land to the big show. There is a lot of detail and decor everywhere. When I was there last night there was a lot of pride on display from the cast members. It was a beautiful well executed land. And where some have said the lack of a structure around SDD was a negative. I thought it was one of the best parts. You had great sight lines of the rest of the land and the park. It fit the theming of the land.

270 minutes in an outdoor queue in summer. . .trying to think of the thing I’d willingly do that for. . .and I’m coming up empty.

At opening yesterday, and really all day, the weather was actually quite nice for Orlando in almost-July. In other words, you could stand there and not actually die LOL. Would I wait that long for a kiddie coaster--no. Did we in fact do FOP three times standby yesterday--yep! So I guess maybe it was worth it for them. (Our longest wait was 90 minutes though.)

It was fun seeing people at AK with their Slinky Dogs on their heads!

Over the past two weeks I've spent a lot of time both backstage and onstage TSL and every time I walk in, I discover another detail that I didn't notice previously. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but it's a lot more than ok. If you're a Toy Story fan, and I certainly am, you'll have a smile on your face the entire time you're there.

That's great to hear. My kids noted yesterday "they probably spent more on the waiting area than they did on the ride" at FOP. And I said yes, because we spend so much more time in these areas than on the actual rides. (And see, it doesn't go unnoticed!) I love the theming as much as the rides, so I'm glad to see Disney is still investing in it. It will be even more important in GE, because the wait times there will be measured in light years, not minutes!!! LOL

I too do not understand getting into a standby line of 3-4 hours... We don't even get into a 30 minute stand by line. I guess we are fortunate to stay long enough, and often enough, to only use fast pass and fill in any gaps with shows, dining, and enjoying the theming of the parks. We average about 8-10 fast passes a day. Will be looking for Slinky Dog FP+ in January!

After watching SDD wait sit at 240 mins plus from open to close on opening day yesterday p, I was shocked just now to see it at only 80 minutes at noon the second day it’s open! That’s the kind of surprise I like! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is at 120 mins so the park has lots of people in it. Hoping this means that SDD handles the crowds well!

Just checked wait time for 12:53 today and it is 66 minutes on Touring Plans. Rock N Roller Coaster is 104 minutes Not bad!

Most of the people there yesterday came for the Grand Opening so waiting that long is expected.

I checked right now 2:19 and SDD is 150 on MDE app and Touring Plans have it posted 150 minutes with a 114 minute wait expected. So that one is right on target with the app.

Exactly! When we were there this past May and there were no FP for TSMM we decided as a family to skip the ride. None of us wanted to wait over an hour for any ride! The longest wait we did was 40 min for Navi River (so not worth it IMHO). We all love TSMM but at Disney time = $ so we opted to do a bunch of the star wars stuff instead.

Interesting - maybe the wait times scared people away; I wonder if the crowds in general at HS shrunk with the other parks increasing.

You know, sort of like everyone switching out a lane on the highway because it moves slow - then when you decide to do it, THAT lane is the slow moving one!

I am going in three weeks and honestly thinking about skipping DHS altogether now. Nothing in that land is worth the waits and I don't want to see lines of people all out in the main areas ... nor the behaviors it will bring. I just hope they are keeping the land safe ...

Seriously ... cute land with two new carnival rides .... people are spending half a day or more there? Disney kool-aid tasting good today.

#ToyStoryLand AT CAPACITY! Guests are now being queued in Pixar Place to enter the land. If you have FP+ passes in the land, you can skip the line! -Mobile Ordering not avalible at Woody's Lunch Box -Toy Story Meet and Greets going on in Pixar Place to make more room in TSL.

I agree - I'm skipping it on my upcoming short trip (this week- YAY). No way. I agree with what you said - it's cute but carnival-ish. To me it's just a really nice version of Dinorama and a total cop-out / cheapy thing from Disney. I know people will hate me for saying that.

Saucers is showing 38 minutes now, SDD at 84 minutes. Both from Lines app. TSM is 36 minutes.

I was at WDW on the opening day, and was half tempted to hop over to DHS to check out the area for the day-one excitement (even if I wasn't going to wait in line). Unfortunately, I missed out on whatever soft openings they had before. But recalling the five hour waits back when Flight of Passage opened, I decided not to go anywhere near that park.

I thought it would just be a kiddie ride, but apparently Slinky Dog sounds kind of cool. I guess I'll just have something to look forward to on my next trip!

i agree with this,I got lucky and went Friday night during the soft open,you could tell the crowd had a lot of locals who have done everything there is to do at Disney multiple times so when you get something new you're down for any kind of wait.I showed up at 7pm and it was sprinkling and overcast so with the sun was gone for the day the only thing that was going to keep me from riding both new rides was the 10pm closing time.I waited 1 hr 23 for SDD and 50 for A**,but I would have done a 5 hr wait between both waits if I had to so just over two was easy.Its a new area so everything you're seeing is new,the people were excited,it was fun to just be there,plus it was my last non blockout day as I'm blacked out till like tne second week of August.
