I know this has been asked a zillion times but I can't seem to find the thread anywhere.

I am thinking of changing up plans and forgetting the Halloween for next year, I love all the decorations but would love to see the Christmas decorations. So here is my question how busy is it during the week of Thanksgiving. I noticed that the calendar for this year they are open until midnight, is that a sign that they expect large crowds.

TIA

In mine opinion, Disney is really really crowded during Thanksgiving week, and especially around Thanksgiving. I went there on Thanksgiving a couple of years ago, and I wanted to Chuck Norris roundhouse kick everyone I met by lunchtime, because of the crowds. Plus during the parades and fireworks show, it gets even worse... I don’t know about recently, but that is my experience with around the holiday time in Disneyland...

Thanksgiving is very busy, but we still love it. We have a tendency to go during peak times though. Thanksgiving rates in my mind about as crowded as spring break when going the week before or the week after Easter. We found Columbus Day weekend during Halloween time last year to be more intense than our Thanksgiving trip but our weekend in July less intense.

Weird...I was told by other DISers that the crowds during Thanksgiving week is pretty low, especially on Thanksgiving Day :confused3

I'm going Nov. 27-29 (Sat-Mon after T-Day) and I sure hope it won't be too crowded...

Again, I went a few years ago, so things may have changed, I just remember it being very very crowded when we went, and I think we even went Thanksgiving day thinking that it wouldn't be too bad, but apparently everyone else thought the same.

I wouldn't let it bother you too much though, the park is amazing this time of year, and it will be fun for you I am sure. ^_^

I'll be there the day before, the day of, and the day after this year. I'll be sure to report on the crowds.

I have gone All week of Thanksgiving break the past I want to say Five? years. We feel that the crowds arent bad at all. I believe summer crowds are WAYY worse. Last year we jumped on and off rides like it was going out of style. Two years ago on thanksgiving the wait for Indy was 15 mins.....How often does that happen? Thanksgiving evening is EXTREMELY Low crowds. This is however just our opinion. You can easily get everything done in two-three days and dont need to stay all week like my family always has. We are AP holders and go often so the crowds to us are very manageable.....for others who may not go as often may feel differently. It's Disneyland....There will ALWAYS be people but you just have to take the best of it and have a great time.

We went last year, we were there Tgiving-Monday after. It was GREAT on Tgiving, Friday and then on Saturday it started to get busier. Sunday was busy, Monday we were only there for a little while and the crowds weren't that bad.

I totally agree and I am sure I will have a great time regardless of the crowd level...how can you not enjoy being at the Happiest Place on Earth? ;)

We were there last year. The Monday and Tuesday before were quite busy, but we managed with fastpass. Wed was our beach day, and Thanksgiving Day and Friday were great, very low crowds.

I think the days before Thanksgiving may be busier this year than in the past. Many local school districts are off Mon-Wed for furlough days. Usually we only get Thurs and Fri off. I'll probably still head over one of those days with my kids, but I'll be prepared for big crowds. It will be our first chance to see the Christmas decorations. We have SoCal APs, so won't be too disappointed if we don't get on a lot of rides.
