Thanksgiving week is going to be packed

We'll be there Thanksgiving week too, it's our 5th time going Thanksgiving week. I am not worried about crowds, I expect it. But like you I do hope they'll extend hours where they can. Fingers crossed!

That's usually been our go-to week, and most people clear out Sunday morning. A few stick around and leave on Monday, but it's usually darn nice that week!

It's usually when I come in if I'm traveling to WDW in early December. This will be my 5th trip that starts in that week. All the Christmas decorations and events, without the horrible crowds.

I come in on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Last time I did that was 2009 and the crowds were low but built up by the weekend.

It's going to be interesting to see what the crowds are like this trip. I often travel in early December, and right now the TP expected crowd levels are much lower than they usually are. I would be GREAT with that; used to be that early December was really quiet, but not in the last decade.

From the news thread, not much of an extension for such a busy week.

Glad to see that they are still giving Deluxe resorts an extra two hours at MK on Wednesday the 24th, now extending to 12am. I'm kind of surprised they didn't just open at 8am that day and leave the deluxe hours the same.

We went Thanksgiving week in 2018. It was a great trip. The only line we waited more than 30 minutes in was to see Mickey on Main Street. And, we never used more than 3 or 4 fastpasses per day. If I recall correctly, I think the only attraction we missed across all 4 parks was the Nemo show at Animal Kingdom (we were there for 8 days, Saturday to Saturday).

I did an enormous amount of advance planning to have is in the right spot in the right park at the right time to beat the crowds. But, that was the beauty of FP+. It provided the opportunity to secure the major attractions 60 days in advance, and allowed us to fill in the gaps between fastpass attractions in a .logical manner. Genie+ does not allow for advance planning and is going to have people criss-crossing the park for no logical reason. As a result, I think all the busy weeks are going to be painful to experience until some adjustments are made.
I'm not going till thanksgiving 2022, but this gives me so much hope! I hate lines and I refuse to stand in line for more than 30 minutes unless it's one of my top 3 or 4 attractions lol.
