Thanksgiving vs New Years Crowds: 2014/2015

Have never been to DLand for the Xmas decorations. We have deluxe passports this year, so thought might try to sneak in for a day or two just for this experience this year. Wondering which dates might be better for less crowds:

Sat-Tuesday before T'giving: (Nov. 22-25)

OR

New Years Day through Saturday: (Jan. 1-3)

I'm thinking the latter due to those dates being blacked out for the SoCal passholders?

If you are looking for lighter crowds, the time before Thanksgiving. But both will be very busy.
 
What Mal said. Any way to go the few days after T-day? Crowds do drop off turkey day on, still packed, but not insane like xmas-new years.
