If you go to the parks over Thanksgiving, how much is it mentioned?

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving (my Dad died because of the holiday). I'd prefer to not think of it at all. We're thinking of going to Disney as they tend to be decorated for Christmas starting in early November. So... if we went over that long weekend, could we avoid being reminded of the holiday? I'd be happy to stay at the hotel on the day of or stay out of the MK, if that was all it took.

I can't tell you about Thanksgiving day itself, but beginning on Friday, it is hard to tell it is Thanksgiving weekend. You are correct that the focus is on Christmas.

I am sorry about your tragic loss. I hope you have a wonderful trip to Disney!

We went over Thanksgiving and I don't remember anyone mentioning it. Many of the restaurants have special Thanksgiving menus though, so you might want to steer clear of those.

I personally would not go near MK on Thanksgiving Day - just because of the crowds. We went to DHS that night to see Osborne Lights.

We were there for Thanksgiving week a few years ago. I don't remember seeing any Thanksgiving-specific stuff besides Thanksgiving dinner, which most restaurants served a version of. Everything seemed to be geared toward Christmas.

We went for the week of Thanksgiving, and I don't recall anything specific towards Thanksgiving, other than a few restaurants offering special meals for Thanksgiving Day. I think a couple of CM's may have said Happy Thanksgiving, but nothing beyond that. We spent Thanksgiving Day at Animal Kimgdom

A few years ago we went Thanksgiving Week and there was a lady at breakfast that wore a turkey hat and a shirt but other than that it was just as everyone else mentioned. We also spent the day of the holiday at AK. Black Friday begins CP and Holidays Around the World at EPCOT. The Osbourne Lights at DHS are amazing and resort hopping is a must do as well if you have the time.
