Hi there. We'll be making a trip over Thanksgiving. We're wondering what people do about getting a traditional Thanksgiving meal We really don't want to make it ourselves, but we do want to have one.

Do any restaurants serve them?

And if we wanted to stay in our villa, is there any way of getting one catered/delivered?

Thanks for any info!

I don't think they deliver, but you can order an entire meal from Publix.

There are many, many choices for traditional T-giving meals at most of the restaurants at or near Disney World...at the resorts, in the parks, at Downtown Disney...

We go every T-giving and have had some terrific traditional meals, some "w/a twist"...probably one of the best, believe it or not, is the counter service turkey (and all the trimmings) meal at Artiste's Palette at SSR! Fancy, no...tasty and very very traditional, yes...it's not fine dining, but it's real turkey w/sweet & mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, a roll, pumpkin pie--for $10!

We've also had other really good ones, too...more of the "fine dining" type...loved what we got at California Grille (except they didn't have pumpkin pie, a must for me at T-giving), and probably my absolute favorite is the family style meal at Garden Grill at the Land at Epcot...I've heard Liberty Tree Tavern at MK is really good, too, but haven't been to that one...my only T-giving meal disappointment, in the 10 years (or so) that we've been doing T-giving at Disney was an excellent meal at Shula's at the Dolphin...but when I'd made the reservation, I'd asked if they'd serve turkey & trimmings; they said yes...but when we got there they didn't have a turkey meal. The rest of my family was delighted w/the steaks (and they were really good), but I wanted turkey...that was the year I discovered the turkey meal at SSR...(I had one at around 9:30 at night--dinner had been at 5) and it made me feel like I'd actually had T-giving dinner!)...

Best way to check it out is the restaurant menus--they have them here on the DIS (www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm) or at allears.net ...

Don't know how early in the year the holiday menus are posted, but they are definitely posted early enough to snag a good reservation...

Good luck...

We've made several Thanksgiving trips and we always eat dinner at the Brown Derby at HS on Thanksgiving day. They have a traditional thanksgiving dinner with pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. In 2007 and 2008 the turkey was thinly sliced and wrapped around the stuffing - it was very good! Served with mashed potatoes and a slice of roasted squash and green beans, if I recall correctly.

We skipped 2009 b/c of a big move (moved from NY to IN). We now have a kid in college, so the Thanksgiving trip turned into a Xmas trip. We went to the Brown Derby for Christmas Day and they had a similar turkey dinner menu - this time the turkey was just sliced and served with everything else, but it tasted great. I was actually hoping that their Xmas dinner would be different than Thanksgiving, but it was still very good.

Do make your reservations at the 180+10 window!

we have ordered Thankgiving from Publix. Ordered online before we left. It was very good and reasonably priced. You need to pick up the day before. We had a car so it was not a problem. Have fun.

Hands down the best "Thanksgiving dinner with a twist" served on Disney property is the one at Whispering Canyon:

Fresh Field Greens tossed with Apples, Candied Walnuts, Blue Cheese, and Dried Cherries, served with a Creamy Maple Mustard Dressing.

Entrée Skillet with:

Smoke House Breast of Turkey
Maple Glazed Ham
Oven-roasted Chicken
Traditional Stuffing
Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes
Candied Brown Sugar Sweet Potatoes
Giblet Gravy
Green Bean Casserole
Cranberry Relish
Corn Bread

Dessert:

Pumpkin Pie
