There's a reason but it's related to something that happened here a few years ago, I'm kinda surprised they haven't removed the filter (unless there's some other worry regarding the app, which is fair, there's a ton of scammy stuff happening there).

Ah see this is what happens when i rarely venture out of this section of the board. And only to really check sell out dates for parties.

when and where is the best place to start stalking charity bibs for Springtime Surprise 2027 cause I want to do at least one race this season and I'm begining to think that the charity route or being a club member (and than you'd still need to spend a year or two being a lowely silver member) is the only way to run anymore

For the first time I was shut out of both W&D and MW after over 16 years of registering. I’m bummed and annoyed, but this seems to be a trend across all major race events. Oh well, I’ve got a local marathon that doesn’t require a 2am wake up and thousands of dollars.

That’s horrible. My wife and I had only 10 years running. This new process is horrible.

Probably a good time to remember the Dopey fleece sold out for a bit last year. And then was available before selling out again. So for fellow Dopeys probably just best to get that sooner than later.

I know I did. Since I was really happy to not think about buying that at the expo this year.

I think that relates to the DVC rental board where the mods want to make sure people aren't taking discussions to sketchy areas.

Wow that was a stressful morning! I was connected on 3 devices, 6 browsers each, and my husband was at home with 3 devices and a total of 15 browsers.
I was lucky to get a 16 min link right away on my phone, and was able to register myself and my niece for the 10K and DH and I for the full!!!
However all the other windows remained over an hour until everything sold out (I think my husband had one at 39 minutes but the 10K was already sold out)
So excited for us, but very sorry to hear other people who were shut out of the races.
Now the training begins! (it will be DH's first and my second full marathon so it will be a fun training period!)

I was thinking of getting the men's weekend jacket for myself (I like the colours better than the women's) but not sure how the men's jacket compares to the women's in terms of sizing? I love my 2025 marathon weekend jacket, it was a Women's S. Would the men XS be similar?

In other news runDisney finally put a section for AWDs sometime recently. Which my god is well overdue but I'm just used to it not existing on race sites.

Now that i have time to post. My day was kind of hectic. Thankfully we are in Ohio this week to do my FIL's taxes. That meant i was working from home. However work said, "hold my beer". i had two meetings at 10am (thankfully not hosting). I also had a meeting i was hosting at 11 am. I was not sure if people figured out how to share links. However at 10 am i had 4 sessions open with my stuff and Bert had 2 or 3 sessions going. Right when it went live, my phone showed 49 minutes. I knew at that point i had one of the better queue so i stopped stressing except that i had to type it all on my phone. Gen Xer here and my phone typing is slow. Got myself and Bert registered for the half.

I feel like the registration is going to be harder than the training.

My left knee did fairly well after the shot, but the right knee was bad for the first 2 days. I could not walk normal till Saturday (had shots on Thrusday morning). i did run last week but very slowly. I got a nice run in Ohio for 5.25 miles on Sunday when it was windy but warm at 71. Beautiful running weather. Then the bottom dropped out and we have 5 inches of snow. Whisky is loving it so that makes me happy. Plus the snow will be gone when we head home on Saturday.

I guess the next challenge will be a hotel. We love staying at Pop Century but I just checked and you can't register for January 2027 yet. When do they usually open up hotels for the new year?

Did anything really change with the registration process outside of them trying to crackdown on sharing links? It all felt pretty the same to me as someone who has never used anything other than my own links.

I think the demand is the highest it’s ever been, but I don’t think there’s much to be done about that. I’m still somewhat shocked at rD being featured on Good Morning America. I don’t follow social media, so I don’t really know if rD has been compensating influencers to tout the races (I’ve only seen rumors); I’d hope they realize that is entirely unnecessary even if they do keep with the GMA stuff as a kind of puff piece.

usually by end of April. Just checked my booking for last year and I booked Pop on April 22nd.

I can't even open my IG without seeing dozens of posts from influencers about rD races.
