Well, It is official. I am cancelling thanksgiving for my family. We are all just too sick and still too contagious to even go to a restaurant. No one wants to eat anyway.

I am really sad. My kids were really looking forward to seeing all of their cousin.

That's too bad but sounds like the right thing to do.
Does everybody live far away, maybe you could reschedule for next weekend.

Hope you're all feeling better soon! You can eat turkey later!! I do feel bad for your out-of-town guests, but I'm sure they'll make the most of the situation. :wizard: Here's some healing pixie dust for you and your family!

That's probably the best thing you can do.

The stress of getting a Thanksgiving together is stressful on a HEALTHY person, it can only make you worse.

I'm sure your family will understand.

Family time at Christmas is right around the corner!

Feel better!

Maybe a nice relative will make a big pot of Turkey Soup for you all. I hope you all get better soon.

I'm so sorry you're having to call off the thanksgiving celebrations. My little nephew was sick last year. He was so excited about Thanksgiving (for the same reason, he wanted to play with all his cousins). The poor, pitiful little thing kept saying he felt better in between vomiting spells hoping to convince his parents that he was well enough to go. I feel so bad for the little ones when they miss out on something they've been counting on.

Staying away from others when you are ill is the responsible thing to do. You've made a good call.

sending well wishes! Good decision to rest and not expose others

The same thing happened to us. :(

We were supposed to leave yesterday to go to Dallas for Thanksgiving with my family, but DD 2yrs got admitted to the hospital on Monday afternoon with dehydration and pneumonia. She was discharged today, but we are staying put. So today, I went to the store to brave the day before Thanksgiving traffic to buy everything needed for Thanksgiving dinner which we are having on Friday.

I hope everyone feels better.

.. resting.

Whatever you have to be thankful for on Thanksgiving day, you'll still be thankful for when you get well.

Hugs to you all, get well!

Wow, how scary! How is she doing now? How did you know she had pneumonia?

She had been sick since last Monday when she was diagnosed woth bronchitis and the beginning stages of pneumonia. Two more trips to the pediatrician within 7 days, and they admitted her since she was not getting better and dehydration had complicated the matter. The last couple of X-rays have showed her lungs are clearing up, so they sent her home with a follow up next week with her pediatrician. It was a little scary to see my normally active toddler (DH calls her The Destructor) do nothing but sleep or listlessly sit in front of the TV. She was sleeping 18 hours a day, more than when she was a newborn!!

Right now, she is still sleeping more than usual, but is acting normal (for her anyway) when awake.

Wow, I am glad she is feeling better. My DD is like that, sleeping 22 out of 24 hours for about 5 days. Doctor said her lungs were clear though.

That must have been just so scary. I'm glad it didn't last very long.

I'm sorry you guys had to cancel your thanksgivings.......hope you ALL feel better real soon.

I'm sorry, sweetie. I hope everyone at your house is 100% healthy very soon.

Sorry you had to cancel your Thanksgiving celebration.

(((hugs)))

we had to cancel our plans too :( The roads are just too dangerous this year and we are still recovering from a brutal flu from last week.

Ill share in your misery :(

I'm sorry. I sure hope all of you get feeling better very soon!!!

I'm sorry you had to cancel, but it's good you'll get your rest. You sure don't need a stressful time of trying to get things together. You'll see each other another time. Feel better soon!!
