Thanksgiving is almost here.. Cranberry sauce..

Homemade. :thumbsup2 A bag of cranberries, a cup of sugar, a cup of water. YUM.

Cranberry sauce was the very first thing I ever learned to cook. I nearly burnt the kitchen down doing it, but it was still edible. This is my recipe too, only my kids call it Razzleberry dressing(from A Christmas Carol.) I am very allergic to cranberries, so i won't touch them with a 10 foot pole, but I always make a big pile for my family.

Jellied all the way! I eat it all throughout the year and don't wait until the holidays.

I make my own...fresh cranberries, fresh ginger, orange juice, orange zest and sugar. Takes about 10 minutes, it's super delish!

I don't like it at all. At our Thanksgiving, my mom likes the whole sauce and my MIL, dad, and son all prefer jellied.

Homemade Orange Cranberry sauce. MMM. It's either a love or hate item I believe.

I'm not a cranberry sauce fan. I do like cranberries in stuff. I *might* even make the cranberry minis I've seen in some magazines. It's some kind of Jello with cranberries and pineapple I think.

That's a big step for me. <-- See my tag.

It's very very easy to make Jellied at home. Before adding the sugar just smash the berries and strain thru a ricer. Discard the skins.

i could eat a whole can of either. i LOVE cranberries and cranberry sauce.

jellied and I make a cranberry relish

If we're eating canned, I prefer jellied. We like homemade, preferrably cranberry and apples cooked together with lots of chunks left. For Thanksgiving I have a jello salad I make that has cooked whole cranberries in it.

We love cranberries. The only thing cranberry I don't like is the cranberry/orange combo. Cranberries are not just for Thanksgiving at our house.

I was going to make applesauce tonight, now I might have to run to the store for some cranberries to cook with it!

Do you prefer whole cranberry sauce or jellied?

I prefer jellied - and could easily eat an entire can all on my own..:thumbsup2

Me, too! If we had Thanksgiving dinner together, we would have to have three cans. One for you, one for me, and one for the other 12 people who only need half a slice!:lmao:

Just for the record...I hate that fresh cranberry/orange peel and all relish..blech..

hmm package of cranberries, two cups of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg -bake covered at 350 for one out stirring twice to help sugar disolve. remove from oven-add 1/2 cup of Jack Daniels and stir. No matter what you have been eating youll never go back.
