This Thanksgiving will be the first time we celebrated this holiday away from extended family, and the 1st time we'll be experiencing the holiday in WDW!

We have an ADR at Tony's Town Square for their Thanksgiving Lunch, however, is there anything else special going on in the parks or at our resort (CSR) that will contribute to making Thanksgiving special? Or for those of you who go to WDW every year for Thanksgiving, do you have traditions you do for the holiday since you're away from home? TIA!!

We will be at wdw the week of thanksgiving too and staying at coronda springs! This will be our first trip too so I'm curious to see your responses!

Try to go to the MVMCP. It's expensive for worth it for the day after Thanksgiving.

Do you think my 2.5 year old would enjoy it? Or would it be too much for her? We thought about getting tix but wasn't sure if it would be worth the $ to go this year...

That's a tough call. I have a 2.5 year old as well so I am trying to picture her at the party.

My feelings are that you would enjoy it more and may enjoy even more with your 2.5 year old is older and will be able to do more things, stay up later, etc. The memories outweigh the cost. I, personally right now would not spend the extra money on the MVMCP and use the $$ towards a character breakfast.

As a DVC member, I know that we will eventually be back around Thanksgiving time and most likely when both girls are older but not for a few years. So my answer can be tainted. If that makes any sense?

Those were my thoughts exactly! :-)

I've never been to the MVMCP so I was only going by the reviews on the Dis for young children. I'm assuming we will be back for the holiday season another year for sure! I would love to go!

Yes lots lol... Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fair, Chef Mickeys, Akershus, Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. It's our first WDW trip with just DH, DD, and I without other family members so we went all out catering to DD lol :-)

Disney doesn't do anything special for Thanksgiving other than the special turkey meals. We were at Disney for Thanksgiving last year. We went to the Magic Kingdom that day. If I had it to do again, I would avoid the Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving Day. It was incredibly crowded. At one point, we just sat down on a bench and looked at each other. We had FPs we were waiting to use, but the lines for everything were like 60-120 min. long for standby. I don't know how crowded the other parks were, but the MK was insane. Overall, we had a great trip and hope you do too.

There is no MVMCP the day after thanksgiving. There is one the Friday PRIOR to Thanksgiving if you arrive that early.

I am wondering how the entire week will be.....we will be there as well. I know crowds will build being the worst Wed, T-day, and Friday. But it is sure to be a blast!

We arrive the Thursday before Thanksgiving and leave to go home the day after Thanksgiving. Maybe we will just go to MK to eat and go elsewhere the rest of the day. Our ADR is for 4pm I believe so we have pretty much the entire day to do whatever :-)

Thanks for the advice! Maybe we'll avoid MK that day.

We went to AK last year day of Thanksgiving and it was great but we were there early and out early. Had dinner at wilderness Lodge and took the boat over to MK. Which was super crowded and really too late for us with our DD. The rest of the group caught the parade.

Since your DD is 2.5 years old, you most likely will be up early as well and hit the least crowds.

Also, we took my 2.5 year old to MVMCP last year. She did enjoy it although she fell asleep before the end. The great thing about that age is they get in free. She met Santa, the princesses, and saw the parade. She did eventually fall asleep right before the fireworks.

Hmmmm... so many things to think about!! Lol! I keep going back and forth with it but I just think DD will be so amazed with the lights and decorations to begin with, along with the magic they present to children that it will be enough this year. Plus she does NOT like Santa hahaha! She made a list for him but already told me she's not sitting on his lap she just wants her rubber duckies (which is what they give the kids at the malls around here for sitting on Santa's lap) I'm soooooo excited to see everything decorated for Christmas! I'm thinking there's a chance we'll be back next year around the same time ;)
