Thanksgiving HHers...how do you seat everyone?

Hi!

We'll be going to HH for our first Thanksgiving stay in November. My parents and possibly sister will be coming down for the actual Turkey Day. We will order the resort's dinner, but here is my question....

When we stayed in a 1 bedroom in March the table in the kitchen was fine for 4 people but no more. Although we'll be in a 2 bedroom for this upcoming trip, I'm pretty sure you don't get a bigger table in the larger unit.

so how do you fit 7 or 8 people around a table for Thanksgiving? Any suggestions?

I think there is a table and 2 chairs in the 2nd BR - or you could sit at the large picnic table on the porch (or try to bring it in and bring a table cloth to cover it...). I have thought about that as well, and beside bringing folding chairs and a table I think that might be your best option. Good luck!

By the way, does the resort notify those who will be there on Thanksgiving in order to secure "turkey" orders? Should I call the resort and tell them we want one of those juicy, deep-fried birds?

If you have a reservation for Thanksgiving, you should receive something in the mail a few weeks before with the choices and prices for Thanksgiving dinner, as well as a list of activities for that weekend.

We also had guests for Thanksgiving at HH one year. I think we lucked out with great weather, so we put the four kids out on the porch at the picnic table and the four adults ate inside. We usually use the kitchen/tv island to set up food buffet-style when we have a lot of people to serve.

The table from the second bedroom is also a good option, and, if necessary, some people can sit on the couch and use the coffee table for their food.

Not sure about Christmas! I do know they do it for Easter, though...
