Well, being a bit new to camping at FW decided to look at booking for Thanksgiving week. Needless to say, there appears to be nothing available. Should I keep checking, try a travel agent or am I just too late. After many years staying at other resorts, we finally stayed at FW a few weeks ago in our new (year old) camper. Absolutely loved it and not sure I want to do WDW any other way from now on.

keep checking. also try different dates..you might be able to book 5 out of the 7 days that you want and then keep trying to add the other days..

Ddude, welcome to the DIS. :welcome:

You can get Thanksgiving week by putting in arrival date of 11/3 and departure of 11/30. I did so and it showed availability for Preferred and Premium sites. Then call back in a week and drop the unneeded days.

During popular/busy times the Fort ressie system will not show availability for shorter stays but will for longer stays that include the shorter period. It's been this way for years. You still only have to pay one night as a deposit so other than the extra call this will work.

So tell us about your recent stay. Any pictures? popcorn::

Ps - the max time you can get on one ressie is 30 days

PPS - Ddude, see the post I left for you in the Musket Mickey thread....

Thanks bama_ed, that trick worked. Now I'll have to convince myself to not use all the days (if only we had the time). I ended up booking 10th - 30th.

Noticed you have a Jayco pop-up. We camped for years in our '96 1006 when the kids were younger. Lost to a falen branch a few years ago be we loved that camper. Now we have a small Aerolite 212 which is perfect for the two of us, the dog and occasional grandchild. Odd that we never took it to DW but at the time we lived outside Chicago and WDW either was flying or driving as fast as we could to get there. Didn't realize what we were missing so now Wilderness Lodge will take second seat to Fort Wilderness for us

Thanks also for letting me know about my PM settings. Changed so should be good now.
