Thanksgiving DISers...

We do Thanksgiving every other year at OKW and unfortunately, this is an "off" year. I'm amazed, however, at the number of DVCers who are dining out. I'm a bit older and probably more traditional so Tday ends up being the one time I actually cook at OKW. We used to get the catered meal from Olivia's but generally were not pleased with what you got for the price.
Anyhow, I would love it if I didn't have to cook next year, so can anyone tell me if any of the restaurants serve a traditional, family style Thanksgiving meal. I hate wasting valuable Disney time in the kitchen but I can't get rid of that Norman Rockwell image we're supposed to all achieve!

We're going to be at OKW for Thanksgiving too!! Some of the family are arriving on 11/17 with the rest of the crew coming in on 11/20. We have never been to WDW for Thanksgiving so we are very excited. We, too, are dining at Olivia's. They are supposed to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is good. At least it will be cozy and family-oriented. I hear that a lot of people are eating at the Yacht Club Galley. I am soooo glad I do NOT have to do the BIG dinner this year!!

We will be there, arriving 11/22, checking into BWV 11/25, the family leaves 11/28 and I attend DIS Con from 11/29 to 12/2. Be sure to have your green ribbons!

Our waitlist finally came through!! We will be celebrating Thanksgiving at OKW this year. We are arriving at OKW on Monday and checking out on Friday, day after Thanksgiving. I have a few questions. How are the parks during this time period? Are there any special events scheduled this time of year? When do they decorate the parks for the Holidays?

Can't wait till we are Home!! :pinkbounc

It's gonna be a Disney Thanksgiving for our family this year. First time to be gone for the Holidays and we are really looking forward to it. We leave on Nov. 9th and head towards Vero Beach arriving 11/11. Then set sail on the 11/18 Wonder Cruise before heading home to BWV for Thanksgiving week. Last night is at the Dolphin. Thanksgiving dinner will be a late one at the California Grill. Hoping to have a view of the MK Fireworks display. Only 12 more days!

jenny and teri, we're checking in to the BWV on November 25th too! We check out on December 2. We're actually arriving in Orlando on Thanksgiving Day, but staying for 3 days at the Portofino Bay Hotel...did that last year too. We plan to eat at Mama Della's...same as last year.

jeanneg, we hope this year to celebrate Thanksgiving with my mother and sister at home the weekend before we leave for vacation, if I'm not frantically packing. When we do eat out on Thanksgiving in Orlando, we don't get the traditional Thanksgiving dinner because it's just not like home.

Well while we "aren't" members we'll be staying at OKW for 11/22 - 11/28 and are absolutely THRILLED!!! We've been gifted the points to stay there and are just totally excited beyond words!

It'll be my family of four, hubby and two boys! Can't wait!!! :) We'll be the family with the "mickey" ears on! ;)

:bounce:

I, DH, DS(13), DD(10) will be checking in at BWV on Thanksgiving day for a 2 night stay then off to the Magic for the 7 day cruise (booked with points).

We still don't know what we are doing for Thanksgiving. Oh but I can smell that turkey cooking.

See ya there.
