It's been a very long time since we had our T-day dinner in WDW. Actually ate at Chef Mickey's and it was pretty good. But, I've been to CMs since then and the quality has gone way downhill. So, not sure we want to do that again.
Any suggestions for another place? It will me myself, dh and hopefully dd, if she gets some time off from DCP that day. Most likely just the two of us, sadly.

We had dinner at Boma at AKL this past Thanksgiving and it was great! There was a mix of the African food, salads, and soups as well as turkey being one of the carved meats offered and some type of sweet potato dish and cranberry chutney. For dessert there were zebra domes and mini pumpkin pies along with some other selections.

LTT if you want that typcial Thanksgiving meal feeling. If you're up for something different, last year we went to Akershus and it was really nice. They had turkey but also their regular buffet of foods, YUM. CP has a nice feel to it for Thanksgiving as well. We've done Boma for Tday which we really enjoyed. Garden Grill also has a nice Thanksgiving feel to it.

What do you think you're looking for? Typical Thanksgiving meal, buffet, etc? We've done many Thanksgiving meals at the World and each had a different feel and different meaning to us.

Thanks for the ideas. We have very varied tastes...I love traditional Thanksgiving dinner, dh prefers roast beef and dd tends to be all over the place. That was the nice thing about CMs. Something for everyone, but like I said, it's just so iffy now, and loud and raucous.

We've done Le Cellier for the past few years. Since we stay at the BWV it is a nice walk into the IG in the afternoon and a nice stroll around while we wait for dinner. They have a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and the regular menu including the filet.

It is pricey no doubt. I love how the CMs from Canada get so into Thanksgiving. We have great interactions with them. There are mixed reviews in general on the restaurant, but we love it. After dinner we watch Illuminations which makes me cry every.single.time.i.see.it. :) Reminds me what I am thankful for...

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great time and your DD can be there - but if not Thanksgiving can be any night you are together ;) and with older kids I get what you are saying!

My vote would also be for LTT. We did that on our last Thanksgiving trip, and actually did a lunch time ADR because that was what was available, which ended up being nice so we could leave later if it got too crowded. It was our 1st time there, and we liked it, especially the traditional Thanksgiving feel. On our 1st Tday trip we did 1900 PF, which was nice because they had traditional items on the buffet, but other things as well, and the strawberry soup which we love! It was also planned because it would be out of the park if it was crazy, and we did a.m. park time, and then back to resort for a break, then did go back into MK for parade afterwards. (We also had DD there for Cinderella which might not be your thing!). DH and DS would vote for LeCellier as they'd rather have a good steak for any meal!

We went in 2007 intending to be 4 of us and ended up with a GG of 17! Since we couldn't be home for a traditional Thanksgiving, we swung way the other direction and did Hoop Dee Do Review. It was wonderful and I'd do the same thing over again. I know you said you enjoy the more traditional meal, but HDDR made us feel it wasn't a cheap substitute for our 35-40 person Thanksgivings at home.

We went for Thanksgiving a few years ago and had dinner at Boma. As a PP mentioned, they had traditional Thanksgiving foods as well as Boma's usual offerings and everything was delicious. We are considering going this year for Thanksgiving and if we do, we will probably eat at Boma again.

Are you in a vacation home or DVC with full kitchen? If so, Would you want to cook Thanksgiving Dinner? I always feel that the best meals for major holidays are Homecooked ones. If so, I would simply cook even if it's Stove Top and Turkey Breast or Slices.

We are arriving Thanksgiving day. I'm trying to figure out where to eat also.

I'm concerned many places will have no openings left since I'm making my ADRs a bit later then most that will be there all Thanksgiving week. I figure I will need several options!

Nope, just a studio. I tried cooking on one vacation...it was not a success. No one ate it.....so, I no longer cook!! Bagels, toast, cereal...that's about it for us.

I like lunch at LTT, but not crazy about dinner. That might be an option. LeCellier is a favorite, haven't eaten there for awhile, could be an option. I asked dh last night what he thought. You know what he said? 'But I love CMs!!! It's so fun...all the napkin waving, and I get to eat whatever I want!! And Kate gets to have all that ice cream!!! Come on now!!!!!'. Oh man.

We ate at GFC this past Thanksgiving. They had a turkey dinner as well as other things on the menu - including a nice looking steak. The turkey dinner was traditional - turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce. It was good.

One of my favorite places to eat...it has good food, and it's not loud and raucous!!!

I am planning thanksgiving 2017 trip and will be trying for a Garden Grill ADR for thanksgiving dinner or lunch. Our family loves their food and we'll be able to get some of the more traditional dishes.

Trail's End had their regular buffet, plus Turkey with all the trimmings, carved ham, pumpkin pie. It was tasty. But don't try to drive there, it was full and we had to park at Wilderness Lodge and bus over.

Captain's Grille has a brunch with traditional turkey plus traditional brunch food.

Drive? Hah...not a chance. I don't even take the buses to FtW!! It's the only place at WDW that I can't seem to find my way around. I take the boat over from the MK!!!

I get your thoughts about Chef Mickey's. Reviews are not great. But I must be a wimp. I would go with DH's request. That said, I need to report that I am finally recovering from major surgery and DH was a star in taking care of me. I owe him But some of the food also sounds good.:banana:
Lots of other good suggestions here for you as well.

We had thanksgiving dinner at Boatwrights last year. It was ok, but I wouldn't do it again unless I had no other choice. We just wanted a traditional dinner and the cajun flavor were kind of strange to us.

I'm glad you started this thread, goofy4tink :) We went for Thanksgiving last year and had The Wave booked, their Thanksgiving buffet sounded delicious. Unfortunately I came down with a nasty stomach bug ON Thanksgiving and we ended up canceling :sad2: It was so hard to pick somewhere last year! We're going again for Thanksgiving this year and I kind of want to book Wave again, but so many other places sound good too.......
