Thanksgiving day - park hours and what to do that night?

We are arriving at Universal on Thanksgiving Day from Disney and noticed that the parks seem to close early (6pm or 7pm). Has anyone spent Thanksgiving at Universal? If so what did you do that night?

We are staying through Saturday so we plan to hit the parks Fri/Sat.

Wish I could help, but I'm visiting Universal during Thanksgiving for the first time this year...however, I just got back from a trip where the park closed at 5:30!!

The first night, my mom and I went to see a movie in Citywalk and then headed back to the hotel (which was quite nice because we were at the hotel before it was dark and could relax). The second day we enjoyed dinner at Hard Rock Cafe and didn't have to feel rushed.

If you stay onsite, use the early nights to enjoy the hotels because they are NICE. Great pools and even just lounging in the room is a great way to end a busy day at the parks.
