We are going to be staying at the Dolphin over Thanksgiving. I have been trying to research out our options for the eating on Thanksgiving day. My mom passed away a couple of months ago (dad died 2 yrs ago) so we decided to take a trip this year since we always had Thanksgiving with them.
Any personal recommendations? The thought of sitting in a huge ballroom with 500 others doesn't sound too good to me. :confused3
It's me, dh and ds (9).
Thanks!

Liberty Tree Tavern has Thanksgiving fare year round. My family went to 50s Prime Time Cafe on Thanksgiving Day 2003 and they offered a thanksgiving meal... Sliced turkey meat, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and even pumpkin pie for dessert... Im sure some other resturants would do the same on that day. Hope this helps.

Cape May Buffet does a "traditional" holiday meal, buffet style that is FANTASTIC!! Also try Chef Mickeys.

We went last year to 1900 Park Fare and LOVED it! It was the character meal with Cinderella, Prince, Stepmother & stepsisters, who were hilarious! They had traditional thanksgiving food, as well as other stuff and the desserts were delicious too. I would definitely recommend it.

We were there in 2004 for Thanksgiving and went to Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness. It was a buffet meal with turkey, catfish and all of the thanksgiving fixings. The food was good. I would expect it to be the same meal that they serve at most of the restaurants. Though we are from Minnesota, and weren't too sure about the catfish or the cornbread stuffing. :goodvibes

The meal included a show which was very entertaining. The show also included guest participation. We will be there again this year for Thanksgiving, and I'm trying to decide what to do. Do we go back to Mickey's Backyard BBQ (since it's now a tradition after only one time), or do we try Hoop Dee Doo? I'm leaning towards Hoop Dee Doo, but I'm not sure yet. I figure if I'm going to be there for TG, I might as well splurge on dinner. I refuse to eat my meal at a food court, though I understand that most of the food courts will serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal. (A co-worker didn't make reservations in time, and ended up at a food court.)

Do we have to wait until 90 days prior to make reservations? It used to be 180, so I'm worried that I'll be too late.

I am very interested in the same question. I am looking for an upscale buffet!

We went to garden grill in EP. I thought it was perfect. You get traditional t-giving food. It is served family style so you don't have to keep getting up and down. You get the characters and the atmosphere is nice.

Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom gets my vote!!! When I went a few years back we went there on our first day in Disney and I loved. I’m a to the tee planer so each day I had a theme and my theme for this day was Family togetherness. This place couldn’t have been more perfect. They serve you family style meaning the bring the food to your table in bowls and the characters come around and greet you. The food was things like turkey, mashed potatoes etc.. My family loved it and they want to go back again this year but I was hoping to do something different but it looks like we may be back.
