Since there was a thread about Christmas at the Fort I wanted to see who was going to be there for Thanksgiving ! We will be there from Nov 19th until the 26th. We are traveling with family from New Mexico it will be their first trip to WDW !:cheer2::cheer2:

Sadly, this will be my first time in 4 years I won't be at the Fort at Thanksgiving time. So I would prefer the moderator close this thread before I get sad.

Aw, just kidding! Have a great time. That's my favorite time of year there!

I will be adding to your sadness with my joy of being there from the 22nd through the 29th. This is our first year at FW for Thanksgiving, in fact it's our first year anyplace for Thanksgiving except my kitchen and cooking for my parents. This year I said enough. I'll do Thanksgiving the weekend before, but this year for the actual day I'll be eating at Liberty Tree. It has been a dream of mine for many years to have a holiday to do just what DH and I want to do. I'll wait a few months to break it to my parents.:scared1:

DaveInTN,
I'm sorry that you won't be there this Thanksgiving. It is also our favorite time of the year to go the Fort. We were there last Thanksgiving and I have reservations for next Thanksgiving booked :yay:. I'm sorry that we didn't get to meet up last Thanksgiving. Maybe next year.

Freshlybarked,
I hope you will enjoy your Thanksgiving Dinner at the Liberty Tree. We have never been there to eat in the past. I may have to add that to my things to do while at the MK. I hope that we'll be able to meet up while at the Fort. We are planning to the HDDR and the Candlelight Processional during our stay this year.
Hopefully your parents will be understanding. For us the Fort has become our Thanksgiving family tradition.

We will be there November 24-28th. Breaking family tradition and heading to the fort. Very excited.:yay:

We are also doing the Candlelight Processional on Friday after Thanksgiving. We are doing the dinner package for the 8:15 show at San Angel. I'm very excited. We caught a little bit of it last year from standing room only and really enjoyed it. We will also be doing the Osborne lights. It has become a tradition.

Solamom,
We have made the fort our family tradition for several years now. It is a time to relax and spend some quality family time with our kids (they grow too fast). Hopefully we'll see you there!

We are doing the 6:45 show with a late lunch at the Coral Reef. We did the CP dinner package about 6 yrs ago. We also like going the the Osborne lights display.

This will be our 7th Thanksgiving Weekend at the fort. We usually come in very early (stay at Turkey Lake TG Night) Friday morning. We usually hit the Osborne Light Sunday night as it's not as busy.

The CP is also nice. We haven't gone over for a couple years. last time we saw Kirk Cameron and Edward James Olmos who did a great job. We also saw Ande McDowell do it too.

The sites will be decorated and if you have time make sure you go to Boardwalk and see the chocolate carousel. I think GF has the gingerbread house. All the parks will be in full decorations. If we could only do one WDW trip each year this weekend would be it.

We will be there the 25th thru the 29. This will be our first Thanksgiving at the fort. We have been trying for months to add the 24th but no luck when we call. We have ressies at GG for Thanksgiving dinner. Hope it's decent. We have never been there

Count us in!

We'll be there 11/13-12/3. We may actually head down to spend T-day with family nearby.... or I may take up the challenge and try and cook a full turkey dinner in the TT.

Hey, one year I made it ahead and we ate it in a WalMart parking lot in VA on the way down! ;)

This is our 2nd visit to FW (only our 3rd to WDW).

We will be there 11/25 - 12/4. :) We can't wait. My DH bought a golf cart when we got back last year, and fixed it up to take with us. So hopefully the ban on personal golf carts won't be there. This will be our first WDW visit where DH is as excited as the kids!

We have reservations at 1900 PF for Thanksgiving. My DDs just love those Tremaines.

We will be there from the Nov 21st to Dec 3rd, we can share a site, but non-smokers only please.

We are doing Liberty Tree on Thanksgiving as well. I can't wait.

We will be there November 27 through December 4. Not as long as we'd like, but I'll take it :)

I'm starting to get very excited about Thanksgiving at the Fort! I'm looking forward to meeting all of ya'll while down there.
I just booked a golf cart with Kenny at TeeTime. He was so nice to talk to! I was surprised that a cart was still available at such a late date!
I have already begun planning my menu for the week! We plan to have breakfast and dinner at the RV and lunch on the go when at the parks. I like to cook ahead of time and freeze flat in seal a meal bags so all I have to do on vacation is warm things up in the microwave. (Afterall, I'm on vacation too!!) ;)

We will be at the Fort November 21 through the 27th. Thanksgiving dinner reservations at Artist Point.
Already starting the countdown.

Welcome to the Disboards !:cheer2:

Is this your first trip to the Fort? Will you be staying in the campgrounds or the cabins? Sorry for so many questions! If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The camping board members are full of useful information. :)

We will be there, usually come in Fri, but this year doing TG at the fort. We are smoking a turkey and have dinner there. Anyone want to join us????

No it is not our 1st trip to the Fort. Just new to the board.
This is our 3rd November in a row. It is our 1st Thanksgiving.
Have been a WDW addict since honeymooning there in 1974. Trips to numerous to count.
I became a widow in 2001 and skipped a few years. Now my boyfriend and I are in Fla. drag racing for the month of November and have fallen into the habit of ending our trip with some R&R at the Fort. We RV it. In our opinion, the only way to go.
Im going to do some kind of 'Green Ear' thing. Please stop and say HI!

LORNADUCK we will be smoking a turkey also! I usually pre-cook everything else before we head to the Fort and freeze it. I think I will be fixing cornbread dressing, rice and gravy, sweet potato casserole, broccoli or squash dish and a fruit salad (not frozen...made at the site ;) ). Dessert will probably be Apple pie and pecan pie with ice cream. Nothing low fat for Thanksgiving day !

the only problem I have is I have never used the oven in the MH and as of now my microwave isn't working. I hope to have a new one by then. I don't want to make much at home since I will be leaving after work on Wed.
