I've been watching flights for awhile for Thanksgiving. Right now, is the lowest they've been in awhile at $550 per person which to me is SO much. But, I know that week is always really expensive. We're not flexible...theres a specific flight down and back that we want, so I can't just look for flights w/multiple stops, or different times, because that won't work for us. Do you think I should book now, or do you think it will go down more sometime soon? Thanks.

I'm not sure where you're flying from, but I can give you some info from our last Thanksgiving trip in 2009. We left from Philadelphia on the Tues night before Thanksgiving. Direct flight Airtran $89 per person. We returned on the Wednesday night after Thanksgiving. Direct flight - Southwest $76 per person. I" stalked" the airline websites and booked these fares on 8/30/09 and 9/5/09. I know the airlines prices are higher now than they were in 2009, but you might want to wait a little while.

Hi,

Checking airfare prices is like investing in the stock market! Sometimes you look really smart by waiting, and sometimes, well...not so smart. Sometimes the price will go up, and sometimes it will go down. Are you a gambler?

My opinion is: if you are comfortable with the price now you should book it.
