We are planning a family trip for Thanksgiving 2006 and have been to WDW several times over Thanksgiving. My question is has anyone flown to Orlando on Thanksgiving day? Was it busy or had the holiday travelers reached their destinations already?

I have not flown to Orlando, but I have flown every Thanksgiving day for the past few years.

When I first started this I had the plane to myself but EVERY year it gets more crowded so I would expect that you would see fairly full planes..

We'll be flying to Orlando from Minneapolis on Thanksgiving Day this year. I'll try to remember to report back or you can email me and I'll let you know how crowded the 2 airports/planes are when we get back.

We flew out of Logan into MCO on T-Day last Nov. Yes, the plane was full, but the terminals weren't horrible to be in. We got really decent airfare flying that day as opposed to the day before. I would fly on T-Day again in a heartbeat. No problem whatsoever.

We have flown from Detroit to MCO on Thanksgiving Day twice. Once in the early evening and once in mid-morning. Metro airport in Detroit was dead! Yes, the planes were full, but the terminal was empty! I asked the lady at check in and she said the day before Thanksgiving is the worst. Also, the terminal at MCO seemed typical, not empty, but certainly not crazy. I too think that most people have already gotten where they are going by then.
