Thanksgiving 2016...Anyone with me?

We have done several Thanksgiving week trips...last one was two years ago...and we love it during that time. Of course, we loved the Osbourne Lights and now we'll be missing those. Hoping that ROL is open by that time which sounds highly likely. We arrive the weekend before Thanksgiving which is busy but not nearly as bad as Wed, Thurs and Friday. DH would love to avoid the parks for Thanksgiving but there is just something about spending Thanksgiving morning in the Magic Kingdom that is....well....magical. We got EARLY (I think they tend to open before 8am that day) and by lunchtime we have to escape due to wall-to-wall people and just crowd madness.

Dinner for us will be Boma, a repeat of our 2014 Thanksgiving Dinner as they had hand-carved turkey there and some traditional items. I've yet to live down the Thanksgiving 2007 dinner we had at Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary with my family where they served us all what was likely a processed slice of turkey...NOT GOOD. I've assured my mom (who was with us for that 2007 trip but not the recent ones) that Boma WILL BE BETTER! We've also done dinner at Turf Club in the past which was also good...but I don't think any of us had turkey for that meal...it was beef or fish.

We will have two small boys, my nephews, as part of our group that week visiting Disney for the very first time so hoping it will be a great trip for them!

We will be there!!! Its our first Disney Thanksgiving!!!! Coming in on the 20th and leaving the 27th!! I am so excited!!!!! We are going to Hoop Dee Doo for our Thanksgiving Dinner!!! We have never been!!

Will MK have an earlier RD time than normal On Thanksgiving day?? Was thinking RD till about 10am and then head back to resort. Going to hoop at 6pm.

I'll be there from the 20-27. We're leaving for a cruise the morning of the 27th. We have ADRs for Thanksgiving at Artist Point and Olivia's. As far as the parks go? I've been at this time before, so know how crowded it will be. We'll be doing our FPs, then leaving. Maybe do a resort tour to check out the decorations.

Last year they did not. I believe there may have been 8 am EMH that day, but we were disappointed that there were no 7 am opportunities at mk.

Good to know...that is disappointing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things go this year. Our plan is also to hit MK early, just because I love being at MK on Thanksgiving morning. The crowds do build quickly so we have some FPs later that morning and then we also plan to leave. Not sure if we'll do another park or the pool if weather permits, and then we have an early dinner.

bumping this thread up.

We will be getting in the Wed before Thanksgiving and plan to hit DHS when we arrive and then AK on Thanksgiving.
Because we are planning to do the Jingle party the night before, I think we we will not make rope drop on Thanksgiving. Not sure how much of a mistake that will be but we shall see. Dinner is still at Cape May Cafe. Unfortunately I cannot get anything before 8:15pm.

From the forecast of WDW Thanksgiving week, it looks to be about the same that we have had here in NJ the last few weeks. Beautiful 60-70s during the day, sometimes even in the 80s, and then nice and cool at night in the 50s. So light coats or hoodies, few pairs of pants, and the rest is summer clothes for us. We are a hot and sweaty family. :scared:

We'll be there 11/19 - 11/28! It will be our first time going at Thanksgiving. We're going to Trails End for Thanksgiving dinner. So excited!

Are there any Black Friday shopping opportunities at WDW? Maybe with the new stores at Disney Springs? Planning for Epcot that day, but may take a detour to Disney Springs if there are deals to be had.

I thought this was a little weird today. My final balance is due, today is my 30 day mark:rolleyes1, and I didn't get any email reminder from WDW saying I need to make my final payment. I had the day marked in my calendar so I wouldn't forget, but if I didn't do that and it slipped my mind, my FD reservation would have been gone. I wonder why I didn't get any emails??

You'll get one the day after that it's's overdue. It will say you have to pay in full by 14 days before check-in. You have some grace period. I was juggling cashback cards and didn't pay it off until 2 days after my 30 day mark. But I had a small balance left so no big deal. Anyway, your reservation doesn't cancel immediately. Disney knows people are human and could forget. At least for now ....
