We are kicking around the idea of going to WDW next Thanksgiving with my parents who are both in their 70s, extremely arthritic and would require scooters. The entire group would be my folks, my DSis (46), DH (51), DS (17) and me (48). I wouldn't say money is no object, but I know we prefer deluxe and Dad is a big guy who wouldn't be comfortable in a double bed. I assume we would rent a van for everyone. With that scenario in place, where would you stay? From what I see online, none of the deluxes are booked up yet. I would love some of your opinions. Also, would you stay on the monorail, given the scooter thing? Thanks all!

An Epcot area resort gets my vote.

That's what we would choose for my family. DH & I have been on a week-long WDW trip with our kids & BOTH sets of grandparents. Three out of the four grandparents used scooters for all/part of the trip.

The set-up was:
DH, kids & I at SSR
my folks at POP
DH's folks were off-site

If we were to do it again, we'd all stay at BCV (which is our favorite resort anyway). Epcot seemed to be the favorite park for all of the grandparents as well.

The YC would be great (our favorite resort). Queen beds and the boat dock is right out the back doors. We've seen many a scooter on the boats to Epcot and DHS.:flower3:

I second the vote for the Epcot area. Why not try BCV.There would be a lot of extra scooter space with a 2 Bedroom villa.

Thanks! How are the holiday decorations around the Epcot/Boardwalk area?
