Thanksgiving 2011 at Disneyland

I have searched the forums and have found very little info. Has anyone found anything? Menus? I called but Disney Dining closed at 9pm so I have to wait until the morning. I will share once I find anything.

I called Disney Dine and they said you can make reservations starting Monday September 26th but they do not have any menus and don't expect any menus before then.

I went to Disneyland in 08 for Thanksgiving. None of the restaurants in the park had a Thanksgiving type menu. I thought to myself this is crazy! GCH might be the only place that has a Thanksgiving dinner planned. I would call them and ask. I hope this helps.*

Yep, pretty much the way it went last year, and the year before... When you do call Monday, depending on how early in the day, don't expect the CM to sound all that sure about menus and pricing even then. Last year when I asked questions, I generally got answers but there were a lot of phrases thrown in like, "subject to change", "this is what they've told us so far", "this menu seems incomplete, maybe they haven't finalized it yet", and "really, I hadn't heard that, let me check."

In all likelihood, there will be a meal at Storyteller's. That's what we've done the last couple of years. You can order a traditional Thanksgiving meal off the menu, or get the buffet. We always get the buffet. No characters.

There is also usually a special menu at the PCH grill. I think it was a buffet too, and it sounded kind of interesting.

Goofy's Kitchen will be serving, but I'm not sure it's particularly special. They always have a buffet, so I think they just add seasonal selections to it. At least that's what they did the time we ate there for Easter. There are characters for that.

There is usually a meal at the Disneyland Hotel ball room. That is really pricey, and we've never considered it for that reason, but I do believe it's buffet, considered to be a cut above the other buffet foods, and features characters.

The DtD restaurants will also offer Thanksgiving menus, and you will be able to find turkey dinners at many restaurants inside the parks, even the ones that don't normally serve that kind of food.

We ate at the PP restaurant a few years ago on Thanksgiving and it was a nice Thanksgiving buffet with traditional offerings. I am going there more than likely because I sort of know what I am getting. The GCH ballroom deal looks awesome but it was $55 in the past. It just seems odd to have Disney not have this detail finalized and available. I understand subject to change but would like to know what they are shooting for. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, that's why we keep ending up back at Storyteller's at the GCH. It's been around $30 per adult for the last few years. The selections are nice. The atmosphere is festive. What's the PP one like? I did consider it last year, but it's hard to turn away from what you know if you've been satisfied with it.

We have always eaten at BB and LOVED IT! the food was great and not too pricey.

Last year we decided to try the meal in the DLH ballroom. WE LOVED IT!
It was pricey. They took an automatic 18% gratuity which if I remember was about $65-80 no matter the size of the group. The food was fantastic.....and they had dancing, live music and tons and tons of characters. Off the wall characters you dont normally see! We ate and ate until we were absolutely stuffed to the max. There was a ton of people there too who also loved it.

we have been waiting to see the newest menus/options for this year and cant find any. What the heck!?

Also waiting to make my reservations. The kids want Thanksgiving dinner at the Blue Bayou but I am going to see the details of the other dinners like the one in the ballroom

I'm now considering Storyteller's *we love going there for brunch* from the investigating I did yesterday DS may still be child priced *which would make the cost not so high - if that's the case this year I'll highly consider it, heck I'm cheap - I wanna take DH *a Disney noob to BB and DD to a character meal. It is funny that they don't release the info a couple days prior to when a PS can be made.....

We've done Storyteller's Thanksgiving dinner for the last three years. DS was charged at the adult price for the last two years. He will turn 12 next month. My other DS turned 10 last month. I fully expect we will be paying adult price for all.

The PP thanksgiving was nice. It sounds very similar to the Storytellers. They have all of the tables of food decorated very festive. They had all of the traditional stuff, Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, etc. plus some extra stuff that makes it sound extra fancy that I don't generally eat. The only problem is the long walk after you stuff yourself. Makes me think that Storytellers buffet might be a better choice.
