I just booked our first Thanksgiving stay at WDW! :woohoo:

I still have to finish the reservation out b/c we want to check out on 11/30, but I got the first 4 nights already.

I'm so excited!! Now I have to figure out where we're going to eat Thanksgiving dinner and call on 5/26 :thumbsup2

Anyone else coming?

We have gone the last 5 years or so for Thanksgiving and we wouldn't want to be anyplace else. Think about Whispering Cafe for dinner, we had a great time and it was pretty much a traditional meal (if thats what you are looking for)!!

I called on 12/23 and booked T-giving for us at SSR, the Saturday before to Friday after. Had no problem booking, our CM was great and even made our ADR's for the May trip.

We did the Hoopty Do review on Thanksgving, we're not locked into Turkey on Turkey Day. We eat a lot of Turkey during the year. I try to be unconventional, had pulled pork & brisket I smoked for Xmas day dinner.

It's not Thanksgiving, but I want to celebrate my 30th birthday in WDW (it's November 29). I can't book yet, though, because my husband won't find out if he gets the time off until March! :headache: I hope we get something! I'm so nervous about it. :scared:

We'll probably do the 24th through the 30th. Our UY is December, so I'd hate to book and have to cancel. Hopefully I'll be able to join in the excitement soon!

We are going the week after Thanksgiving. I have to call Jan. 2nd. I can't wait. It will be our first trip "Home"

Debbie

We will be there too at the BWV! :) We will be arriving the Friday before and leaving the day after T-day. We know my parents are also joining us as well as friends who often come down with us too. We've asked other family members too to join in on the fun. To the OP thanks for posting the ADR date! I'll have to put that on my calendar. :) We will be having a large group so I want to make sure we have a spot for all of us to gather for Thanksgiving.

I booked November 16 through the 20th. My daughter missed having Thanksgiving at home this time because we were at WDW,so we're going for a few days and will fly home on the day before Thanksgiving. I'm willing to miss any and all holidays to go to WDW!

I just booked OKW from Nov. 18-27 for Thanksgiving and our DS's wedding. I'll likely add a few more days to the end of that once I have everyone's plans sealed in concrete!

We will be there with you on Thanksgiving (our first at WDW). I too am interested in some suggestions for dinner reservations. Original poster mentions 5/26 as the day to call for reservations, is this correct?

We'll actually likely cook Thanksgiving dinner in the villa and save the restaurants for other times.

I checked the calculator and 5/26 is the day for Thanksgiving reservations! So far we have 12 group members coming and I'm hoping more come. I'm trying to pick a place that will be good for a big group. Any suggestions?

I hope we will be there next Thanksgiving. We went last year and made the mistake of waiting too long to make a reservation for lunch or dinner. We ended up eating pizza, hot dogs, and hamburgers for Thanksgiving dinner. We couldn't even find a place for all of us to sit together. Crowded? You bet. But it was so much fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will plan better this time around though.

Thanks!

I thought I remember about a year ago or so, hearing that you can make priority seatings for your entire stay once you reach the # of days back from your check in date. Does anyone know if this is true?

if you're staying on Disnsey property you can make ADRs for 180+10 days.

So, at the 180 day mark you can make ressies for that day along with the next 10 days.

Unless you have to borrow points to book now, my advice is to book now.

Knowing for sure in March is plenty of time to cancel without penalty - you could even bank all of your points at that point if you can't go at all in your 2006 use year.

With a December use year, you can bank up to 100% of your 2006 annual allotment as long as you do it by May 31, 2007.

So again, unless you have to borrow points for that 30th birthday trip, go ahead and book your dates now. Hope your DH gets the time off!

Wow. That is great. So since we will be arriving 5 days before thanksgiving, this will give us a better chance of getting a good reservation for Thanksgiving dinner.

I'll be there for sure! We are thinking of maybe Boma for Thanksgiving dinner - unless someone has a suggestion for a better place for vegetarians to have Thanksgiving. :)

Very exciting!

Although it's not Disney World, it is Disney-we're headed to HHI for our second Thanksgiving there. I'm so excited! Last year we learned too late that we could get Thanksgiving dinner from Signe's, so that's what we're hoping for this year! In 2005, we were at OKW for Thanksgiving, and really enjoyed that too. The weather was much better than at HH last year (we're giving the HH weather a second chance), and our Thanksgiving dinner at AP was excellent.

We have gone on Thanksgiving (very crowded day before and after then it thins out considerably) we ate at The Liberty Tree Tavern (MK) had a wonderful holiday meal family style the walked outside for the parade it was a great holiday (plus no cooking for me!!!!!!)
Enjoy!!:)
