Thanksgiving 2007!!!

OK...I need advice. We booked at Category 12 Guarantee and were assigned to room 7631. My understanding is that 7631 is an accessible room and that makes me nervous. We've stayed in accessible hotel rooms before and, in all honesty, we just weren't comfortable in them. Either the sink is too low, the toilet is too high or surrounded by grab bars, storage is minimized etc.

No flames...I appreciate that DCL has accessible rooms, but I just don't think I want to stay in one all week. Plus, I'm concerned with a zero entry shower that my son (who takes very long showers...but honestly prefers a tub sometimes) will flood the ship (or at least the cabin)!

Anyone have any advice?

On a t-shirt note....I've used paypal in the past to make payments (on ebay) but not to receive money. I went to paypal today and apparently I need to "request" money from each of you by sending you an e-mail. So, for all those that want t-shirts, can you send me your e-mail address (either post or PM is fine). I don't have cost yet...and obviously won't ask you for money until I do...but I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row before I have to travel for work.

By the way I've bugged Chris again for some information about sizes and cost and will get back to you all as soon as I hear from him.

Thanks,

Karen

Karen - if I were you, I'd give Disney a call to mention your concerns about the room. They may be able to offer you an alternative room and switch you with someone who hasn't been assigned a room yet.

Please keep in mind that paypal is going the charge you to receive the funds. So with that being said you need to add 8% to every ones final bill or you will come up short.
You can send our bill to aircrftmec@aol.com and I will paypal you.

I would suggest you may want to keep 7631 - although it is handicapped accessible, it appears to be a larger room than normal and the location on the boat is very good for that level. If you dont have the Passporter series 5th edition, i suggest getting it - it is by far the best Disney cruise book out there.

As for the T-shirts, if you want to provide me w/an address to icelaw21@aol.com, I'll just send you a check or cash as you prefer.

Thanks all for helping to quell my fears. Sorry, but my last fiasco hotel stay was in an accessible room...I had the flu (miserable in itself) and the bathroom was none too friendly when praying to the porcelain god that your stomach will leave you!

I have looked and the room looks huge...so...I guess we'll just keep it. The location also looks really wonderful...so close to the "secret" deck.

If you all hear of a flood on the 7th floor, I promise you it's only my little pirate taking his usual shower!

OK...problem solved...now on to making that fish extender thing!

Karen,

On our RCI cruise last thanksgiving, we had a guarantee room and they assigned us a handicapped room with the accessible shower. At first, we called and asked them what it was like and they said people actually call and request that room since it's so large, even when they are NOT handicapped. So we decided to keep it and were really glad that we did. It was like 350 sq. feet and the bathroom was huge! The shower was almost 4 ft. by 4 ft. and both of us could easily shower together. :) There is a drain all the way around the shower and also one at the threshold to the bathroom so no water escapes, even when the seas are rough and the ship is moving.

It was one of our best rooms we've experienced on a cruise; plenty of room to turn around and put things.

Let me know if anyone needs this file sent to them for their door sign! :)

Just a heads up here in Dallas the flu season started early(about 3 weeks ago). We received our shots then our daughter came down with a strong case of the stomach flu and has been sick for 6 days now. I do not know if there are any other firm believers in getting the flu shot but I wish she had gotten hers earlier.

Rob :thumbsup2
