I just booked our flights and rooms for November 20-25 2005.....and we are all excited already! We have never gone at a "busy" time, or a "holiday" at all.......the Thursday of our stay is Thanksgiving....wondering if anyone cal tell me about :

Crowds

Where to get a "thanksgiving dinner"

special events

anything else that might be helpful

thanks much,

Amee

I have been to WDW twice at Thanksgiving. Avoid Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving Day unless you get there right when it opens. It gets unbearably crowded by day's end. Many people like to eat dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. We go to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. It's so expensive it's our special holiday treat. The Christmas lights are up at that time and it is just beautiful. Check out this link for further dining options.

I'm excited that we might actually be there at that time too amee!

From our previous experience and to concur with Mimi Q, avoid MK on Thursday. We went to MK in '99, arriving late in the after, about dinner time. Main Street was packed for the earlier of the two MSEPs (Spectromagic is there now) and we could barely cross from Tomorrowland to Adventureland. It wasn't until we were in the middle of the conjestion, at the tail end of the parade, that I realized we should have gone around through Fantasyland.

We opted to have our Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday night when I couldn't secure a PS time for Thursday at the restaurant of my choice. We have a quiet character meal at LTT, during the 4pm seating (the first of the dinner seatings). It wasn't crowded, just us and one other family in our section.

We were in WDW from Saturday evening before through the Saturday morning after. We weren't in the parks either Saturday and went to Daytona Tuesday morning. We didn't feel that it was terribly crowded during our stay, nothing unexpected as far as the number of guests in the park and length of wait times. I'm looking forwarding to returning that same week because we get to enjoy the parks as they transform to the holiday decor and the weather was perfect during our last trip. (hoping for more of the same this time).

Amee - we went for Thanksgiving this year (1st turkey day there) and loved it so much we're going back in 2005. We flew in Wed. night late. Thurs., Thanksgiving Day we went to MK in the a.m. We rode BTM around noon. Had gotten a FP as the standby line was like 55 mins. We ate a 1:00 ish lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern. Our first visit there. It was yummy. Turkey was very tender. Later that day we went over the MGM and visited the Osborne LIghts that night. It was a perfect night. The lights were great, it was "snowing" there, and we were wearing shorts and sweatshirts. We flew home on Sun. We did not find the crowds to be as bad as we had expected. We did a lot of low key things on this trip though. Lots of shopping, walking, dining, did the Segway tour at Epcot, etc. We didn't do a lot of rides. (Made up for it at Christmas!) WDW will be decorated for Christmas. You'll love it. MVMCP will probably start that Sun. night. We missed it as we went home on Sun. ENJOY!

Thanks for all of your great words! Glad to hear its not terribly crowded, except for on Thanksgiving Day.....we've never been away from family on thanksgiving, but i think this will be very memorable!

thanks again,

Amee
