I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have given words of support and copious amounts of advice to those of us still in the planning/stressing stages!! I love to hear about what y'all did, what worked for your wedding, your stresses and funny moments!! It somehow helps me immensely to know that people do make it to the wedding day without having total sanity loss! To know that there is life after the honeymoon...I'm still trying to wrap my head around being someone's "wife"...I'm way too irresponsible and flighty to be a WIFE...ACK and a STEPMOM!!! I'm not mean and I don't have a wart on my nose and I certainly wouldn't ever lock my beautiful and endlessly sweet step daughter away from her Prince Charming! (maybe my step son though...he's a stinker!) :rotfl:

Anyhow, I want just wanted to express my gratitude to you all...seriously, I do not have a soul to talk to about my wedding, my family is 3000 miles away and I don't have time to build up new friendships here at home...this board has saved me!!!

love and hugs to everyone!!! :grouphug: :wizard: princess:

Since you are not having a Disney wedding, but one locally, I would recommend you also check out your local theknot.com forum. My local forum has been a wealth of info, including lots of specific advice on vendors in the area. Also, we have get-togethers regularly to meet each other, unwind and vent. It's a lot of fun! You can find the local knot board by going to

www.theknot.com

then click on "In Your Area " on the blue menu

then click on whatever city is closest to where you live

then click on "To-Be-Wed Chat Board" on the menu on the left side (in blue)

There are quite a few brides on here who frequent both forums, so you might even find a Disney friend on your local chat board!

HTH! ~Ev :)

actually I'm not even having a local wedding...I'm getting married 3000 miles from where I live!!! :lmao: But thanks for the info...I live on The Knot! But I have to say I've had a hard time finding a message board that doesn't dissolve into arguments with other people on the board...everyone seems so dang stressed out over there! It must be the Magic of Disney over here! ;)

thanks again!!!

I just wanted to add in and let all you girls and guys know that all the info. that everyone shares and all of us being able to help each other out is great. Keep up the great and superb work. :cheer2:

The local boards are the only friendly ones over there! I'm active in three of the local boards. There are two in my state that are both very friendly, and I became active in them when planning my daughter's wedding. We had vendors from both areas (as is common around here), so it was VERY helpful. I'm also active on the Orlando forum, as that is where we're planning our vow renewal. All three of the local boards have been wonderful. But, the few times I strayed over to the national boards, you're right... they were nightmares! Have you tried the local knot forum for where your ceremony will be held? I would think that would be a good place to become active. Good luck! ~Ev :)

Do you guys remeber Jill? I really miss her and wish she'd come back around. Remember she had the big wedding, really pretty girl, had the mad hatter tea party and the whole nine yards. I remember she used to call "knotties" just plain "snotties" :rotfl2:

Haha, that's what the Orlando knot forum called the Disneymoon board, because of their selective admission criteria! Luckily, the Louisiana boards are both friendly places, as is the CF board. I've seen nothing but friendly communication on any of them. I can't speak for the other local boards, but I definitely know the national boards are AWFUL! I went over and read on them a few times looking for dress ideas and DIY floral vendors, and some of those women said horrible things to each other! The "Advice from Past Brides" board and "Etiquette" board seemed like the worst... which was pretty ironic considering the topics! LOL! Like I said, stick with the local boards... it's much friendlier that way, but then you can get advice specific to the vendors you will actually be hiring.

I also find this forum to be very helpful. It's been great to read about what can and cannot be arranged for couples who are just Disneymooning versus having the whole affair there on property. It's saved me a lot of legwork and been a true support. Thanks! ~Ev :)
