DH bought me a pair of sneakers, and I have started walking at lunchtime. I'm beginning to think "weight loss" and am getting ready psychologically to start again with WW. (I had great success with them in the past, so I dug out all my literature, etc.)

I have a few things coming up (DD's graduation= big PARTY!!), so I'm going to start in June. There--I've said it! June!

I totally love my carbs, so much that my nickname was "Starchy" when I was a tot--that says it all! I want my carbs!! I'll be OK on WW. :)

Katholyn so impressed me with her weight loss! I'm so proud of her! And the rest of you are also doing such a great job with those pounds! Wow! You are quite a group! And I want to be part of this "shrinking" group.
 
Kath is pretty impressive isn't she? We are all very lucky to have her on this board!
Welcome to our humble home. We all love it here because it is such a friendly and safe place to be. Here you will find hope and encouragemnet from everyone, but the best way to really bask in the flavor of the WISH board is to post- like you already are! ANd GOOD FOR YOU for walking already! Have a fun time at that party, because after that- you're gonna be a real LOSER!! :p

I agree that Katholyn is awesome! She's the reason I joined WISH, and feel so "at home" here! I am another one who is addicted to carbs -- white bread is my biggest downfall. I don't need to have junk food whatsoever in my life, but take away my bread (oh, and pasta too!) and I'm a very unhappy person. I'm just doing my best to eat more sensibly, eat less in general, drink lots of water, and go to Curves. I probably won't see the dramatic weight loss too quickly but every little bit helps. I'm sure that even starting your walking routine will make you feel so much better, which will give you motivation when you start WW.

Cathy, it is just great to see you here. I, too, set a date to start my new healthy lifestyle. It's a great idea to do that because it gets you focused. So, we will be expecting to see more of you in June, but I hope you will hang out with us in May too :) Having a huge support group is very helpful to me.

Everyone, this is my friend Cathy. We met in person for the first time last December and I feel like I've known her forever. She is a lot of fun and she has the sweetest little giggle. <i>Listen</i>...hear that? Isn't that cute? She's giggling right now because I said she had a cute giggle :teeth:

The reason I call her ( and KarenNY too) "Sis" is because we experienced MVMCP together last year and when we had our photo taken, the CM asked if we were in the same family so we said yes, we were sisters :teeth: And now we are! Isn't that great? I just love the DIS, I've made some really strong friendships here.

You are going to like it here, Cathy. We have a lot of fun and everyone is nice. We're just one huge "clique" everyone is a member. Now you are a member too.

When you decide to get started with this project go and post to this thread <b>HERE</b>. I use that thread to keep up with our list of WISHers, I hate when I miss people ;)

If you want to you can add the WISH challenge member clipart to your signature. There is a great instructional post by our own wovenwonder telling you how to do that right <b>HERE</b>

What we do is start with the member clipart, even if we've lost weight already, we just start with zero when we take the WISH challenge. Then everytime you lose 5 pounds you can trade up to a new clipart. It's fun and motivational. You might notice that I've had that 10 pound loss clippie of mine for a long, long time. That's okay, my WISH pals keep me determined and motivated. I'll get to trade up again, eventually. I am learning to be patient.

This is just so great, Cathy. I'm so glad you are here on WISH with us. I know you like to lurk but I have to tell you that is against the WISH bylaws. You have to post at least every once in a while ;)
