I just wanted to thank everyone at this board for helping me so much in planning our intimate wedding. Thanks to the information that everyone here shared, my DW and I had a wedding day that exceeded our expectations. Without all of you, we would not have:

1. Known about Randy Chapman. Randy did an unbelievable job on our day. We are so happy that we hired him. We are waiting for our pictures, and can't wait to get them.

2. Known that there are alternate honeymoon photography packages that we could use Disney photography for instead of using them for our wedding. We ended up getting the Epcot package, which was great. It was neat to be able to walk around the World's Showcase before anyone else was around in the morning.

3. Thought of having an Illuminations Dessert Party. We ended up at the Upper UK Pavilion which was perfect for the size of our group (12 people). It was awesome to have our own very private space to watch Illuminations.

4. Booked the Intimate Wedding package as an add-on rather than the entire package itself. We had theme park tickets already, and only needed to stay at Disney for 3 nights instead of the 4 provided in the package before we went on our honeymoon in Hawaii.

I'm sure there are other things that I'm forgetting, but thanks again to all of you.

sorry to sound dumb, I am new to the board, but I read the part about booking your wedding as an add on rather that an entire package. Can you please tell me how that works and is it a lot cheaper than the price I have been quoted for a pavillion wedding package?

The intimate wedding package included a number of different items including the ceremony site, officiant, photography, reception, 4 nights in a Disney resort, and 4 day ultimate park hopper passes. Since my DW and I already had our passes, and we only needed to stay in the resort for 3 nights, we were able to make reservations at a Disney resort and "add-on" the intimate wedding package which included everything listed above except for hotel and theme park tickets. It was cheaper for us because we didn't need the tickets and cut out one night hotel stay.

We just got our pictures from Randy and we were totally blown away at what a GREAT job that he did. Not only were the pictures great, but he was so easy to work with on the wedding day. We had no idea that he had taken as many pictures as he had! We are having a heck of a time trying to figure out which pictures to pick.

If you go with Randy do you still have to use Disney's Photo guy or can you cut him and it cut the cost a bit?

If you go with Randy, you can't cut out the Disney photographer. But what you can do is to have an alternate Honeymoon shoot. That's what we ended up doing. There were 2 packages available. One package was no additional fee, and the other was an additional $50. I don't remember the details of the 1st package. We decided to use the 2nd package which was a honeymoon shoot in one of several different locations like the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT World's Showcase. We decided to go to EPCOT. It was pretty neat. We met our photographer at 9:00am and he took us around the World's Showcase before the area was open to the public. After a few weeks, we received a beautiful little album with 11? pictures in it.
