Hi

Its me again I have a few more questions. My husband has come around the idea of going nexy year

However, we plan to go in November but we are not sure when the Thanksgiving starts. When do the Americans start to head over to Orlando and when does the rides start becoming packed.

We plan to leave on the 9th November for 2 weeks.

Hope you can help.

Thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November, it starts to get busy from the Wednesday and quietens down again from Saturday/Sunday onwards.

just to be picky, Thanksgiving is actually the fourth Thursday in November.
Most years it works out to be the last Thursday, but in those years that there are 5 Thursdays in November, Thanksgiving is the Fourth one.

And in fact, in 2006, that's exactly what happens. Thanksgiving falls on the 23rd of November, which is the fourth Thursday in a November with 5 Thursdays.

We went Nov 10th (for 2 weeks) last year and found it very quiet til just before Thanksgiving. e.g. we went to MGM the Monday before Thanksgiving and there were virtually no queues for anything. MK was very busy on our last visit of the trip but we'd 'done' the park prior to this and just wanted to enjoy the atmosphere. There are also increased frequency of entertainment due to the holiday season (which we benefited from!)

You also get to enjoy the Christmas decorations in the resorts

We went this year from 12th november, the week of the 12th was wonderfully quiet in all parks although MK was the busiest! from the monday of thanksgiving week there was a noticeable hike in attendance and by the last few days 22nd through to 26th the parks were packed with really long lines. There were a lot of 'operates seasonally' stuff i.e. carousel of progress that was open tho'. so my advice would be to go like mad the first week of this time and do all the big rides then relax a bit for the second week and just make for the stuff that is not always open.
HTH
