Hi folks,

Just back from 2 weeks in Orlando with family and had great time, ran 4.33 for 1st marathon took my time enjoyed and finished comforatably and if not for a 8 minute delay for toilet break would have broken 4.30 , all this 3 days after 40th birthday wish i had done a marathon sooner.

My daughter also ran the Mickey mile.

Just to say thanks i run and train solo as i like to run early in morning and my local running club is at night so i picked up a lot of my training tips from on here and would like to thank you all for the tips and encouragement (much apprieciated) especially coach Charles.

Thats it just to say i will run the Edinburgh marathon here in Scotland this year one in England in autumm now i have the bug and see you all next year at Disney marathon.

I will keep on this boards for more tips and once again i am very grateful.:thumbsup2

Paul,

Glad your marathon went well. Next year you have to come meet up with us! I like the idea of the Edinburgh marathon. One of our best friends just moved to St Andrews to head the English Department at the university. This could be a great way to combine a trip.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the reply's and well done to everyone who completed thier marathon weekend goals.

I will try my best to be a regular poster on this board.

Maura, St Andrews is amazing, my workmate's daughter is attending there. It is steeped in history, tradition and cash (ha ha) unlike me as mickey gets all mine.

Good luck to your friends with the move, i hope and am sure of a warm Scottish welcome for them from everyone at St Andrews, it is a very open and safe place with students from all over the world and Royalty etc.

If you get the chance come over i am sure you would love it the scenery, history and atmosphere are great. It is also the home of some great golf courses.

I will post some pics of the Edinburgh Marathon if i can work out how too, me and computers are not the best of companions, i have managed to get a photo account set up here on the dis but cannot seem to transfer them on to posts, i will try to sort it out and post them.

All the best to everyone in 2010 with your running and personal goals.

Way to go, Paul!! Congrats from a guy who is a couple of years younger than you in Birmingham (Alabama).

I spent a little bit of time over in your part of Scotland a good many years ago doing joint ops when I was in the Navy. It's really beautiful over there, and I got to see a lot of the areas by train or by van. I gotta tell you though, some parts of Scotland, for the life of me, I couldn't understand a word of what people were saying. I guess if you came to some rural parts of Alabama it might be the same though.

Great job though! You rock!
