Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Do you all remember the excitement of waiting for replies to your first post? I just got off of the phone with Dana at micdan. Wow! What a dynamo. Very knowledgeable, best price around (by far) and quick to respond to any question. Returned my calls almost immediately. I placed a deposit on the Oct 14, 2006 cruise. I am having some trouble comprehending the insurance stuff, will buy on my own. Any helpful hints? Plan on driving for now but if able to secure cheap flight can I add insurance to airfare at a later time? Also, sounds to me like a lot of time there are exclusions for hurricanes/weather. Thankfully we are a very healthy family, and I anticipate that IF we were to have any problems they would somehow fall in this category. What questions do I need to ask and do you usually do this over the internet or call and speak to a representative. If your payments are made via credit card, is it common for them to provide any travel coverage. Is it worth a phone call through their crazy automated system to even ask? Welcome Heather! I love love love Dana! She is my TA and I found here thru these boards almost 3 years ago! You can go to www.insuremytrip.com and get ideas on what insurance will cost you. I dont think you need to buy it until right b4 you make the last payment on your cruise, but I am not completly sure about that.

I agree, Dana is the best out there! Michael at Midan is also wonderful! I used to be a travel agent in my younger days and have to say......... I have never seen a better agency. I called for a quote to add a 3rd person on my booking. Disney quoted a price, but when they went to book it, Disney said they gave the wrong price. Even though it was Disneys error, Midan was going to honor the original price which was $50.00 less (out of their pocket) They have my business from now on!

For my last 3 cruise I used Access America "family plan." Using this plan, kids are free. I usually pay about $120 for all of us. To get this rate you need to call Access america and ask for the "family plan." Here is thier website address
