Whoever recommended it (it's an allrecipes.com recipe). Made it for our party last night, and on a table loaded w/ food, was the 1st thing to go, and everyone wanted the recipe. So yummy and easy! Another hit was the meatballs w/ chili sauce and grape jelly. Very tired today - the last few husbands (playing cards) did'nt leave until 5:30 am:scared1:! And we got up at 8 to take the kids to their Sunday school Christmas program! Thank goodness my turn for the neighborhood party is over for many years;)! Now to clean the house for the next round of family coming Tues. - sigh.

oooooo, that sounds yummy. I looked up the recipe, and think I would substitute one of the blocks of cream cheese and add some garlic!

Glad it was a success for you!

what would you replace the cream cheese with?

I can't find it or at least one listing cream cheese in it? Can someone give me the exact name to search? TIA!

I did what a reviewer suggested and mixed half of the parmesan cheese with panko bread crumbs. We served it w/ the oval shaped butter crackers and Fritos scoops. It is a keeper recipe:thumbsup2. Think I will make it again for Christmas day.

Thank you for the recipe! I'm excited to try it. I wonder how it would be with fresh jalapenos instead of canned? I'll have to try that.

Ok, so I couldn't resist - this recipe sounded too good. I made a batch and OMGoodness.... it was amazing!!

I did add more jalapenos than it called for (about double) and I discovered that the mixture is best if it "sets" overnight. We tried it right after I made it and thought it was pretty good. We dug into leftovers the next day and WOW!!!

This will be my new favorite dip recipe! I was the one who always brought spinach dip (so easy so perfect for me!) but now someone else always seems to beat me to it.

:cool1:

Thanks for sharing this one! :thumbsup2

I made this dip on Christmas day. I served it as an appetizer and we all stood around the dish until it was gone. It was fabulous!!:thumbsup2 Definitely one I'll make for years to come.

We are having our Christmas dinner today. I am getting ready to head to the grocery store. Now that I read this thread, my shopping list has grown:cool1:!!!!

You won't regret it!! It calls for 2oz of chopped jalapenos, but the can came in 4oz, and I used most of the can. DH said he thought I could have used the whole can...the dip was spicy, but not hot or overly spicy. I served it with wheat thins and sesame sticks.

ETA: I just have to add - I wouldn't make any changes to the original recipe at all (other than adding more peppers for more heat if you like it spicy). All of the lesser reviews from posters on allrecipes came from those that changed the original recipe! I never understand how you can rate a recipe as "not great" after you completely changed it - the first time you made it!!

we made this for Christmas Eve. Next time we will add more peppers

Ok, I'm glad you posted this because it is such a pet peeve of mine! There are people who change the entire recipe and then give it low ratings! It cracks me up - I swear that if it were a meatloaf recipe, someone would give it low ratings and comment that they "replaced the meat with tofu and the ketchup with mustard."

The only jalapenos I could find were in a 12 oz jar. I don't believe I will use the whole jar:lmao:!!!

Can't wait to try it!!! I  jalapenos!!

Yup! It aggravates me because I usually only try those that are 5 star or close to it. Those that completely change the recipe and then lower their rating are throwing off the system. :headache:

Sharon - have fun at your party today! I'm betting your dip will be a huge hit!!:thumbsup2

I have made this dip twice since Christmas Eve. Thanks for posting it!! It is YUMMY... I also used the whole 4oz. can of diced jalapenos and we thought the spiciness was perfect!

We have made this twice since finding it here. AWESOME! Everyone loved it. We did make some changes though. We added 2 cups of finely shredded cheddar cheese. We also roasted 3 jalapenos instead of buying the canned. I thought their texture would be more like a popper's texture. Now I'm wishing I had more. I gave too much of it away. ;)
