After reading the thread on Lighthouse Key Resort I decided to tack on an extra day to our Orlando trip. I was so glad I did. We stayed in a 3bdr/3 bath suite. It was gorgeous. :thumbsup2 I loved the way it was decorated. Our suite had West Indies style furniture. Everything looked brand new.

I was most impressed that our suite had 2 master bedrooms. Each master bedroom had a flat screen tv, dvd player, a sliding glass door to the lanai, and a walk in closet. Also, both of the master bathrooms had a separate shower and whirlpool tub.

The great room had a 42" TV with a dvd player. That room overlooked the lanai (or as I called it - a balcony) with a sliding glass door. The lanai had a table and four chairs. It was very private. From our balcony we could not see any other balconies.

The kitchen was beautifully done with granite countertops, tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances.

On the downside - there was no soap holder in the shower. With all of the fancy ammenites I was surprised that something so basic was missing. Also the dvd player was a little difficult for us to get going - but thats our fault. We had to use the menu button on the remote to access the dvd. It took us almost an hour to figure that one out.:confused3

They have a big clubhouse. The front desk staff was cordial and helpful. There is also a mini movie theater (it looked to seat about 50). I think they screen 3 shows a day. The theater looked great but the chairs could be a little uncomfortable.

After a tiring day, we were there for R&R. Once we arrived we didn't want to leave even to go out to eat. I'd packed a cooler with grilled chicken, hummus, cheese, potato salad, raw veggies, tabouli, crackers, mini pitas, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne. We stayed in, watched our dvds, and just hung out. We'd also packed breakfast. As a result, I have no ideas about the restaurants & 'things to do' in that area.

The traffic looked really bad to me - I was just glad that we didn't have to drive in it until it was time to leave. Where in the heck do all those people come from?!? And why were they all in MY WAY? And why don't they know how to drive?

:thanks: I wanted to thank the dissers on this board who opened the thread up about Lighthouse Key Resort. Without this thread we'd never have stayed there. Dh was really impressed AND he's hard to impress. After staying there we both wished that I hadn't already booked a hotel room in Orlando for the next night. We'd have loved spending more time there. It was hard downsizing from a 3 bedroom suite to a regular old hotel room.
