Thanks for being a place of respite...

Just wanted to express my appreciation for the DIS boards. They are truly a place of respite for me. I can come here and talk about things that really don't matter that much in the scheme of things, but that is the beauty I can laugh with everyone, cry with everyone, contemplate political issues, etc.

Some of you know that my mom has been very sick and is now in an assisted living facility. She has breast cancer that has spread to her brain. Since I am the oldest daughter (actually the only daughter), I am the one who takes care of all mom's affairs, pays her bills, etc. It can be overwhelming at times.

Last week she was doing great, got a good report from her latest MRI, was in good spirits, etc. This week she is experiencing a lot of pain in her side and has just seemed to have gone downhill in general. Her doctor is recommending a bone scan.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to all on the Community Board, also the Resorts Board (where I also spend a lot of time), for a place to come and put all my cares and worries behind me.
