We leave in a few days and I just wanted to say thank you for all of the planning help I received, particularly the advice about good spots to watch the parades and where to watch the fireworks so it wouldn't be too loud for DD (autistic). I have tried for the last three years to make Spectro pleasurable for her. She loves the lights and gets really excited when she sees the floats coming down the street, but when they get close, the music has been too loud. Same with the fireworks. She is enthralled with the colors, but hates the BOOM BOOM.
I'm trying the beach at the Poly (after dinner at Kona) for Wishes. We'll wait to try Illuminations after we see how Wishes goes. We will try Sue's spot for Spectro and hope for the best. Also, thanks to the poster who suggested the ear protection worn by hunters. I bought a pair and we have been putting them on her for small amounts of time so she would be used to them.
Disney has always been a magical place for me, now it is even more so because of the changes that take place in my daughter while we are there. Her joy while riding her favorites or while seeing the characters is my favorite Christmas gift.
Thank you again to everyone. Wish us luck for a trip free from meltdowns and sensory problems.
