Thanks for a great 2015, Podcast team....

Did you start those drinks early? lol.
I wish. I could go for a Krakatoa right about now. Or perhaps a Hippopotomaitai.
Also, I caught up with a friend yesterday and she informs me that Hanukkah finished on Sunday, so I hope you had a wonderful Hanukkah (have I spelled that right?)
Thanks. Hanukkah (you spelled it just fine) was kind of weird this year. It was the first time DD wasn't here (last year the holiday fell during winter break). Not having a kid here kind of took all of the fun out of it.

Good lord I want to go to Trader Sam's (I think this has to be the location for any form of DISmeet we have!!) I need to try these outrageously expensive cocktails!

Yeah, much the same as Christmas, it's less fun when there are no kids around

They actually aren't quite as outrageous as you might think because the souvenir glasses are really nice, not just cheap crap. I believe you can also order the same drinks without the souvenir glass for a lower price but I'm not positive about that. But a $16 drink comes in a glass that would easily cost more than that if they were just selling them in a gift shop. Plus the place is a blast, well worth the price for the experience.

Oh no... I need the glasses. there's no question about that!

Llama I'm glad you posted this. Sometimes life is so busy I don't really think about whether I had a good year or not -I suppose we all know when we had a bad year. But now that you've reminded me, this has been a pretty amazing year(let's hope I don't jinx myself!). We watched my oldest daughter graduate from Syracuse, and she managed to get a teaching fellowship at one of the top charter schools in the Northeast -and loves it. Our youngest daughter graduated High School as the highest decorated senior in her class, and is now at school in Boston -and loving the city life(I honestly don't think she will be coming home permanently). I'm glad they never found out what a terrible student I was! I just got a significant promotion at work, where I shot for the moon and they said "sure, no problem." Finally, yesterday my wife resigned from her current job to accept a position at a new Company that had been after her for a while. Needless to say, it's been a very good year! I hope some of our good luck rubs off to those Dis'ers that need it next year. Thanks and best wishes to all of you that make this such a great community! Thanks again, Llama ....no kidding.

Trader Sam's was one of my priorities during our trip out to Disneyland - we may have gone a bit overboard with the souvenir glasses for juts one trip. And to add to what DisneySteve said - the glasses are really high quality (even the kids sipper cups (the two taller ones) are way nicer than your typical kids take home cup) and the drinks are pretty strong - felt like I got my money's worth (though, to be fair, I am used to New York drink prices)

The Shrunken Zombie head was defiitely my favorite - and coolest glass!

Very nice collection! I still treasure my Adventurer's Club canteen. :)

Honestly, I'm amazed the drinks don't cost more (I hope Disney isn't listening). Look at those glasses. That shrunken head would be at least $20 in a gift shop. Getting it for $16 with alcohol included is a steal.

You should see Aussie drink prices :-/

I've been a total news junkie for years, mostly as a result of my degree in Political Science. I have a long commute to work and frequently an even longer commute back (a great job that involves nothing having to do with my degree) and I was listening to a lot of news/talk radio. I started to realize that the daily yelling/hysterics of talk radio was starting to affect me in a negative way, so when DGF and I discovered (for me it was a rediscovery) the DIS while planning for our trip back in the summer, I became hooked.

I now spend my two hour drive catching up on some of the 2015 shows during the break and am excited to hear some of the "Best Of" moments that I missed during the year. I'm also a much happier person who now only listens to talk radio for the traffic reports.

The irony that I at one point swore off Disney message boards, and that I now can't wait to log on and see what's in store for Monday (Just heard Pete's 12/29 show) is not lost on me.

Here's to a great 2016....!!
