Just wanted to thank everyone for the help and advice. I had been posting camera compare questions and have been driving myself crazy.

Finally decided today to take the plung and purchased the D60. I got a good deal on it and wanted to join the Nikon family.

Now I just have to start buying lens and learn how to use this thing before my Nov trip.

Enjoy! It's a great camera. I highly recommend the 18-200 VR Nikon lens if you can afford it (~$650) Totally worth it though! Great walkaround lens with excellent results.
