I am feeling very thankful tonight and would like to start this "Thanksgiving" related thread a little over a week away from Thanksgiving....

I did not do so good today on a test that I needed to pass....so yes I cried my eyes out but now I am turning that into tears of joy to have the life and the family that I have....as just on the way home from my test I saw a motorcycle accident and thought to myself at least I will be here or have my family with me at Thanksgiving while this motorcyclist might be missing from his/her Thanksgiving table...

So as we all struggle day to day to make ends meet, while we all struggle with losing our jobs, or even not passing the exam that we needed...lets all think about those that we love and the things that we are thankful for this Thanksgiving.....

I have been doing a challenge on Facebook to post something I am thankful for every day until Thanksgiving. So far it's been easy. I am fighting breast cancer and I have so many people around me to be thankful for. People I didn't even know cared so much.

I'm sorta bummed today because I found out I definitely have type 2 diabetes

HOWEVER...

I am MOST grateful to all the nurses, doctors, my husband, my sisters, and all of my collegues in this endeavor who helped save my life this year. If not for them, i would have succeeded in killing myself and my children would have no mother. With proper and intensive treatment I have made a tremendous turn around. I am grateful that I have mostly happy days now, instead of crushing depression.:goodvibes

I am thankful to have my job.
This year I have seen nearly half the employees with my company get laid off.
:guilty:

I am thankful to still have my Mother with us. This may be her last Thanksgiving, and I cherish every moment with her (even the moments that take a lot of strength - both physical & emotional).

I am having one of those days where I am trying to get beyond one of those moments...just wanted to offer you a  and say thanks for the reminder to find something to cherish instead of what I am feeling.

I am thankful to God to be alive after the 3 cancer surgeries this year, the coma, then the radiation and 4 more surgeries. I am so blessed. I dont take anything for granted anymore. I have so much to be thankful for. Blessings to everyone here.

I am just thankful to be here each day and to have a wonderful family. I am also thankful that I am in the position to help others this holiday season.

I'm thankful for still having my mom alive and well (even if I don't always like her).
I'm thankful for my husband and kids.
I'm thankful for working cars and a nice house.
I'm thankful for having a good job in a horrible economy.
I'm thankful for my pets who cheer me up when I am down.
I'm thankful for my friends who always have an ear and shoulder to lend when I need one.

I am always, always thankful for the good health that I do have.

Yes, I have a few problems. Type 2 diabetes, thyroid problems, etc. but compared to others (my MIL died from ALS, my Dad had Alzheimer's) I'm doing just fine and I'm thankful and grateful for that every single day. Also extremely thankful to have a healthy husband, healthy children, and healthy grandchildren.

I almost loss my soul mate in August due to an unknown virus causing 105.6* temp :guilty:. I'm so very thankful two hospitals, many drs and care givers help save DH's life. He is having on going health issues from virus, as numbers lead us to believe he has possibly suffered liver damage, in which he is still undergoing testing and now been referred to Johns Hopkins Hospital. I am leaning on my faith and am reminded not to take anything for granted, as we never know what tomorrow may bring. I praise God he has help guide us this far and we're blessed with such loving devoted children, family, friends, knowlegable medical teams, wonderful technology and the best hospitals, every step of the way. :flower3:

:grouphug: My heart and prayers go out to all those struggling with on going trials and tribulations. Godspeed and may you always keep the faith ^i^
